I published my 100 ways to make money online hub a few months ago using the same article i posted on Bukisa so I received a duplicate content penalty. Since then I have completely changed all the information. Hubpages no longer labels my hub duplicate content but my hub score remains the same since it received the penalty. Is there any other way I can recover from this?

They also done this to me and my score recovered after around two weeks, I learnt now I just don't post my information elsewhere.

What about other people using your stuff as duplicate?

I still have a 'warning' on one of my hubs and hubpages tracked down where this duplicate content is located. Sure enough, someone has copied and pasted directly from one of my hubs. Notifying the site where this has occurred hasn't changed anything?

Should I go in and edit my hub or what? It will be easy enough for me to do so.

Did the site take the content down after you notified them?

The duplicate content checker is only run occasionally, so it can take some time for the warning to disappear.   Don't worry about it too much as it will go eventually, if the other site has removed the content.

No, the other site has not taken down the text or replied to my notification - I used their report form...hub pages staff looked up some stuff for me (very helpful) and outlined the process/protocol the other site has in place for things like this. I followed directions and use the other site form - twice - no changes at all...

I logged in there today - same user's post with the text from my hub copied and pasted is still there, same place, no messages in my on-site inbox - no emails to my email address.

Not sure if I should just change content here at HP or not.

We can probably do something about that without requiring you to rewrite it. Which hub is it?

norah, it's the "dead boyfriend" urban legend hub.

            Thanks for your quick response.

Hi Norah. What about my two poems by Banjo Paterson? I guess I can't change the text without making a mess of some wonderful poetry.

Will I have to keep seeing duplicate content on these? Their must be thousands of people putting out these poems. smile

We can only do something about content that is created by a hubber and stolen by someone else. In your situation, if you add more original content (such as a reflection on what the poem means to you or your own interpretation) that will reduce the dupe score and the dupe penalty. One hub I read recently had some reactions from other hubbers as well as their own (since you can only say so much about shorter pieces of poetry).

Thank you for the quick reply Norah. You are a great asset to we hubbers! I will see what I can do. smile
