No offense intended to whoever is making all of these design changes around HubPages, but they look very amateurish and as though done by a student and not a professional.

HubPages is losing its professional look, and going to...I don't know, but I think it's yuk...the hubber score off the avatar, the text under the hubber on hubs now instead of beside it as it was, the new logo...sorry, but it's all ugly to me.

[EDIT] and the new quoting thing in the forums is wonky as hell. Sorry, been away awhile, and had to vent. smile

I had the same problem, but it's not a Hub Pages thing. It's the font size your browser is using to display the page. I had to go to a smaller font size after they switched things up, and now that part of the display is fine.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I think that the new layout of the Topics Page is an error. We all know that surfers gets bored pretty soon and having to check every category in my humble opinion doesn't work too much. Much better to go back to the old layout. I find also that it gave better possibilities to compete with hubbers with a high hubscore.

I don't see anything wrong with it hmm it's just the categories list. Quicker to access rather than navigating through several pages. tongue I think it looks great. smile thanks HP Team!

It might be, nevertheless when I landed on HubPages after checking the homepage I went for the topics page and checked the hubs there; if it was like it is today I would have probably gone away. But maybe I'm the only one like that. And maybe I'm the only one again but I've seen a difference in traffic after the change, negative of course. Another option could be to enlarge the homepage including five hubs for every basic category. smile

I'm not fond of it either. That much info needs to be presented in a very sleek an functional design. This is very cluttered.

And I don't know the age of the people selecting the font size. But the over 50 set is the fasted growing demographic on the net - and our eyes need larger heavier fonts, with lots of white space in between. The small font size offset with the blue-gray highlighting is hard to read and painful if you want to do a lot of it. It's just not older people, people with diabetes, MS and a host of other issues can have vision problems.

Even the simple list of topics to the left is blue on gray. There needs to be more contrast between the type and the background box. And a title at the top of what you're looking at. Because the tiny little "All Topics" at the left corner is way too small to be effective at telling people what they are looking at.

The graphics to the left are distracting and don't necesarily give a clear visual clue of what the topic is about. A single larger icon that really speaks to the topic would be a better choice.

It really does feel like a student project to me - and an unfinished one at that.

I'm starting to be concerned about what they'll fix next!

ok, how does one get the topic page.  I reach it by clicking on the Hubpages logo. Am I missing something? It looks the same to me.

Never mind, I was looking at my own topics page. You're talking about the Topics page for the community. My Duh! lol

    Yeah, it does look wonky.

I've never looked at the Topics page before. I don't like the grey blotches everywhere; they look very messy.

Couldn't we make a poll to see what hubbers prefer? smile
