   As the celebs use the media to promote themselves and their products can they claim privacy when the media search deeper?

      There are many celebrities who use the media to promote themselves and the media should respect the bounds ethics. However, the media loves to spread rumors or gossip, or say things are untrue.
      
      Once the media latches on to a story, the damage done, which shouldn't be done, winds up happening and ruining some lives.
      
      Yes, celebrities have a right to privacy, just like everyone else.

   Yes, i think they are entitled to privacey.  We all have our working hours,  but for our sanity we need to be able to switch off in peace to unwind.

   On one hand I would say yes, but on the otherhand a lot of them become famous now for their 'private life' antics, and get paid accordingly. I kind of feel as if anyone going in to fame nowadays and expecting privacy is deluding themselves.

      yes and no.  some celebrities do very well living away from the spotlight because they don't seek it. they are entitled to do what they do well and live their lives.
      
      those that spark controversy in some way have asked for it, so they have to live with it. that will never change.
      
      there are numerous celebrities that live or have homes in this area and they aren't bothered~ the one that probably has had the most media spotlight is hulk hogan for various reasons. a number of the celebrity scientologists have homes here. musicians... one famous musician who lives here loves it because no one bothers him and he loves the weather.

    If I were a celebrity and paparazzi were plaguing me, I'd offer a reward for pics of the paparazzi in their most embarrassing situations, invading their privacy so they knew what it was like. {and owners and editors of the scandal sheets}

    They are attention-whores by nature. Privacy would mean nonentity and no money. They might whine about privacy, but if they were really afforded it, they would be out in the middle of everywhere screaming for attention.
    
    So called "celebrities" are the scum of humanity. The sooner real people learn to ignore these travesties of people, the better.
    
    I personally boycott any publications that waste ink and paper on reporting these pathetic excuses for lives as well as any product that is endorsed by one of these morons.

       You make a good point, WriteAngled.  There are two different kinds of celebrity.
       
       People who become famous for excellence at something (actors, sportsmen, politicians etc) are entitled to privacy.  They're doing a job which they happen to be very good at, and when they're off duty, they're entitled to a private home life. 
       
       But these days there are a lot of celebrities who are famous for being famous.  They've deliberately sought fame for its own sake, and probably put their private life out there to achieve it.  They can't suddenly turn around and plead privacy once they've done that.

    Nop.. A celebrity is someone who has signed up to be a jackass in front of the world and that means since he/she wants easy quick fast money, they are willing to put themselves on complete display.. So No No they don't deserve any privacy.. hell they don't even deserve the money they make

       I agree they do not deserve privacy if they wish to harvest money from the public.  As far as the money goes, whatever the market will bear.  Not saying they are worth it, but more power to any person that can use the free market system to enrich themselves.
