I'll assume you're talking about 'Hinduism' here.

Hinduism is notoriously hard to define. It's surely part religion: a religion that includes gods like Shiva, Vishnu, Krishna, Rama and Ganesha for instance.

The reason that it's hard to define is that the beliefs of different Hindus are so very different. Their practices are also very different.

However many Hindus do seem to believe in the Oneness of God, whether they call IT Shiva, Vishnu, Krishna or anything else.

Many Hindus practice rituals to pay respect to their respective Gods, but what those gods are differs per person.

Most people who call themselves Hindu are either born in India, or have an Indian racial background. In that respect Hinduism is like Judaism: it has a background in the community one is a part of.

I do think defining Hinduism as ONLY a way of life is unfair: there's surely a religious side to Hinduism. It's just not a membership religion like Christianity. But then again, Christianity really is the only membership religion out there.

Anyhow, sociological definitions of religion include 'way of life' in some way or other usually.

But according to rig vedas the iconic bhagwans of hindu have been recorded as pursuing illicit relations with some of the ladies, with this moral decay how can we accept them as the righteous figures who teach good in life???

Sorry, just want to ask you, no offence intended.

In Kali yuga, even "bhagwans" are susceptible to it's influences.

Unless they are the real deal smile
