A Thread To Apologize...

   With all the drama that has been going on, I have come to realize that there are many times when we say something that really hurts another person. Over the internet, especially, it is easy to forget that there is a human being on the other side of our conversations, a human being with a heart and emotions.
   
   I've decided to begin this thread so I can apologize to anyone I may have hurt with my comments or replies. I have also decided to make a resolution to think before I hit submit.
   
   I'd like to invite anyone else who would like to participate in this to speak up. Don't let it embarrass you. We all make mistakes. Let's stand up, apologize, and make resolutions to try to treat others with more respect and courtesy.
   
   Let's make this a time of new beginnings.

   Great Idea Pani. I have always tried to be aware of others feelings and to treat everyone with respect but I will offer apologies to any one I might have offended or hurt.

   I agree If there is anyone who I have hurt, please know I am as innocuous as a butterfly and as fragile too. i would never do anything, say anything, even enter the room, if it hurts you.
   
   We are safe here, and speak our minds. i don't ever want to hurt anyone, if I have I apologize.

      I don't think you have ever hurt anyone, Faybe. You're such a kind person with such a warm heart. If it hadn't been for you, I wouldn't even be here.

    i am sure being who i am i have said or done something to hurt someone and i am truly sorry for it but i know i have never hurt anyone more than my mother and to this day i am still sorry for everything.

    Like most people, I have my opinions - sometimes strong ones. I've never had the intention, however, of hurting anyone. I think we can disagree or debate without being nasty. If I've ever hurt anyone's feelings, mea culpa. (Other than Randy Godwin. I don't care if I hurt his feelings. Wait - he doesn't have any feelings!)

    Pani, I don't recall you ever saying anything hurtful to anyone. You have always been from what I have seen smart and thoughtful in your responces, never condescending or demeaning as some I have seen.

    I'm sure lots of people have taken offense by the things I say. And when I thought I had to apologize, I did.
    If I hadn't it's because I didn't find a motive to do so.
    I always stand for what I say, even  when everybody's against me.

       Strong willed and steadfast, are not the same thing as thoughtless and hurtful.
       
       Pani - I appreciate the sentiment of this thread, although I doubt most of the posters here have anything to apologize for.  In all likelihood, its the ones who would never think to set finger on such a thread that are creating riffs.
       
       We are writers, thinkers, lovers and dreamers... and as such we all have a unique view of the world.  We are bound to clash, but there is no reason we can't do so w/ decency and mutual respect.
       
       Just remember there's a difference between holding your tongue and holding your temper.  For the sake of us all, I hope we can do the latter, but certainly not the former!

       I do try to stand up for what I say. I am also the first person to admit when I am wrong. However, my intention is never to hurt anyone with what I say.
