For me it is such a sad character trait if one has it.
It's a lack of humility to be open, or even better, care what someone else believes.
Arrogance is a false sense of pride, simply because in its selfishness, the arrogant person could care less even knowing so.
So how do you deal with someone who is not occasionally arrogant completely? Prides themselves on being so. To put others down
I learned today the only thing I can do, given I am upset, not him, is walk away.
That's sad and so unnecessary.
He's probably reading this rationalizing, with no doubt, what a fool I am.
Again, sad!
I can't change anyone but myself. I tire of the arguments
Any arguments for or against this?
Definitions of arrogance to you?
Do you think you are arrogant?
Thank you.
to be arrogant is to be afraid of being wrong. don't let these guys get to you, dear. most of them are here because they're not somewhere else (or can't sleep like me)
listening 2 what u r saying. i'm not arrogant and don't really have a defintion handy right now...putting others down - u have to wonder why - ask yourself that question. i see it as a sign of weakness or something lacking - all that energy in dismissing someone or something - negative stuff. why? sometimes i guess people are just all caught up in themselves and don't see what is beside them, around them, in front of them or behind them....and then 'poof' you're gone and they still don't get it because they are still busy with their own thoughts and don't see you or hear you and take you for granted. not sure if my words helped any...sometimes people need a good 'bonk on the head' and others well............
it seems personal for a forum discussion, like you hurt my feelings and such
she is a hottie! you ought to be nice!
okay - the way i wrote and how the posts all fell together looks pretty odd!!! I was just answering questions as I wrote - no I'm not the guy, I'm a (hetro) woman just responding!!!! LOL - I'm cracking up over here!
Now, let's get serious again.
oh now it makes sense. it's two girls talking.

I've often been accused of being arrogant, and it's usually by people who disagree with me about something. I've noticed that some of my favorite historical personages have also been accused of arrogance. What exactly is arrogance? And is it always bad?Is there any non-pejorative way to say that...

Is it important to you to listen to the opinion of others, even when you disagree?Often we have discussions with others on 'hot topics', on which there may be much disagreement. Is it possible for you to respectfully listen and allow that person to share their viewpoint?
