Hi! I recently joined hubpages after hearing lots of great things about the community (which has thus far been proven true) and as a way to develop (and maybe eventually monetize) a hobby. I've finished my third hub today, and recently received an email telling me that my second hub got selected as an Editor's Choice Hub. I'm very pleased about this, but I have some doubts on the whole Google adsense account thing.

I want to apply to Google adsense, so I wanted to ask: Is the whole "ten published hubs" thing really relevant when applying to an account? I do have several hubs I want to publish by the end of this week, but I'd just like to know if the "10 hubs rule" is really a requisite to a Google adsense account, or more like a general guideline suggested by hubpages to make sure nobody gets their application denied?

This could be an exciting journey for you. I was having this problem before until I got my adsense account because of hubpages.com, of course, my first adsense account. Just stick to the plan for 10 hubs and it should show up in google search because of the quality. I have been denied 20 times and still pursued until I got my adsense account here. You can do it. Good luck.

10 hubs rule is not that strict. I have learned some hubbers here got 3 hubs but long hubs and approved for 2 weeks time.

Was that recently, alphapx?   At one time, it was possible to get approved with only 3 Hubs but I haven't heard of anyone achieving that for a very long time indeed.

Google Adsense is constantly raising the bar in what it expects.   These days most people need 15 Hubs or more - plus your HubPages account must be at least one month old.

I see, thanks for both answers.
I'll stick to the 10 hubs guideline for now and hopefuly it'll work out, regardless of what happens, I'll keep publishing hubs I had planned and if I have any problems I'll make sure to get back here and ask for help. Thanks again!

Since you've been a member here only six days, do as Marisa advised and wait until your account is at least a month old as well as having 15 or more articles. I don't know of anyone who has been approved with ten hubs within the last two years or so. If you're not approved at one month/15 hubs, wait and try again at 6 or 8 weeks and 20 articles.

You'll get approved eventually, but don't be surprised if you are turned down if you have ten hubs and a very young HubPages account.

      Welcome, and best wishes.

Hello Dak welcome to hubpages.I am also new here and want to apply for google adsense but i want to publish atleast 10 long hubs before applying to hubpages."Insuffient content" is mostly the reason
with everyone for disapproval.Adsense want to know about what are you writting , how captivating your article is and how much traffic it is receiving. It will get this idea gradually when you reach 10+ hubs.So I too recommend you to publish atleast 10+ hubs before applying.

Yea. Since I didn't immediately find anything on this at first (apart from hubpages own advice) I decided to ask about it on the forums and take the opportunity to introduce myself.

I just got my 5th hub featured now and passed bootcamp, I'll be steadily posting hubs and try to apply when I have at least 10+ hubs.

People have been very attentive so far, thank you all for your answers!

Since you live in India, you will need to wait until your account is at least 6 months old before Google will consider your application. Also, the thinking now seems to be that 20+ featured hubs are needed to succeed.
