Who Wants To Buy My Hubs? Offers over $10000, I will put your affilliate code into my account. my hubs make big money and you could be the new owner of them.
does that look like a scam to you?

Ithink it is a big mistake to allow anyone to transfer their adsense account to another person because i believe it will open the gates for other hubbers to sell their pages to the highest bidder and for unscrupulous people to scam other hubbers out of money.

if you like me have been following this thread, then you will know what i mean I know thecounterpunch is not interested in making any money from hubpages and just wants his work to be read, and I hope you don't take offence in my post my friend. but i think that it would be wrong for yourself and for hubpages if this was allowed to continue, if you dont want your adsense earnings or any other affiliate earnings then the simple thing to do would be to remove the affiliate settings from your pages, that way you would have none of the tax problems that you mention in your forum post.
as for the seo side of things to get yourself more readership, submit your work to social networking sites, submit your work to google ,yahoo and any other search engines that you can think of, if you have a blog put some links on it too, seo these days is all about back-links the more you push your work on social networks and blogs the higher your search engine rating will be.
after recieving your money for my hubs what is to stop me adding my adsense back to my account at any time?

    have fun.........jimmy
P.S My hubs are not for sale

I see what you mean, but how can you stop someone from selling something they own?

The way I see it, counterpunch could just as well have said, "I'll pay someone five to ten bucks a month to promote my hubs."
Can't you transfer hubs to a new account?
And I see what you are saying about pushing the hubs on social networks, but I can't see many stumblers or diggers wanting to read the type of stuff he likes to write..smile

even if stumblers or diggers dont read his work it is another backlink which helps with search engine ranking.....jimmy

Not at all, what I mean is that I only earn 5 to 10 buck a month because I have no SEO knowledge nor time to waste in so called social networks. And it is when I'm not writing fresh articles. When I'm active earnings are greater of course I was just conservative in earnings. If someone can increase 10 times the traffic, earnings should be multiply by the same rate no ?

There are 1077 from stumbleupon according to stats. It is "spontaneous" people who did so, not me.

For Stumble traffic that is nothing big_smile

A well stumbled post will generate 10's of thousands of completely useless views. And as for generating backlinks. I have a feeling google takes the quality of the link into consideration. I have said before, I think this is wasted traffic- because of the stumble button on the toolbar.

It depends on the field I think. Most people are just looking for entertainement or recipes as I said in a comment to RonPrice hubs:
          http://hubpages.com/hub/Making-Ones-Life-Scientific

          >RonPrice: "the average reader is looking for a good story and is not prepared to wade through my analysis, commentary and social scientific and literary-philosophical"

          >My answer: Most people want entertainment or recipes, that's a pity. This is very general behavior.

When you get the 10% people who are out the six sigma bell curve who are not just looking for entertainment or recipes, if they stumble that kind of article it means it wasn't just an impulsive click on the stumbleupon button smile

I think the biggest problem for RonPrice or me is that we are submerged by all the blogs around which are mostly commercial/entertainment oriented. If you look at RonPrice Hub although his article is very thoughtfull, he's just got one fan: me. That's really a pity. I have a lot more 76 and I hope he will catch up that numbers.

be that as it may, even for those of us who write the best recipes ever,big_smile have a problem getting traffic because there are two gazillion other receipes to compete with, most of which are well- SEO marketed garbage full of ads. smile
The way stumble works is someone hits the "I like it button," they send you a couple of hundred views and if any one else likes it, and hits the thumbs up button, you get a lot of traffic. So 1000 views probably means 1 thumbs up.big_smile
I have no problem with you transferring your hubs to someone else, and in any case, as jimmy has already told us his adsense earnings, his are not worth ten grand, big_smile
That's a joke in case I have offended any Scottish sensibilities - I know how you scots can be big_smile

    Jimmy,

I'm with Mark on that. I don't think we need HP to babysit us. They have a lot of other things to do, and we all are grown up (at least those in question smile)...

I'm not selling my hubs as far as I know ? I really don't see your point. I keep the ownership of the hub, I only change the adsense ID to someone else in the same manner that 50% of impressions are changed with hubpages adsense ID.

    >if you dont want your adsense earnings or any other affiliate earnings then the simple thing to do would be to remove the affiliate settings from your pages, that way you would have none of the tax problems that you mention in your forum post.

    It's already done

    >as for the seo side of things to get yourself more readership, submit your work to social networking sites, submit your work to google ,yahoo and any other search engines that you can think of, if you have a blog put some links on it too, seo these days is all about back-links the more you push your work on social networks and blogs the higher your search engine rating will be.

Come on, that's just my point, SEO is really not my stuff, I don't want to do that. That's the reason I want someone knowledgeable in that field to do it.

    1. jimmythejock profile image74
jimmythejockposted 17 years agoin reply to this

you dont need much knowledge, the share this page link on every hub written, does it all for you, if you add a link to your hubs from the sites mentiond there, that is 10 backlinks already, by adding your link to those sites you are creating a back link from an external source which the search engines pick up and that will increase your readership.....jimmy

My concern really is not about you but the concept of scammers who could say that they are making alot of money on hubpages when they are lucky to make 10c a week then trying to sell their hubs and place someone else's adsense on them.

thecounterpunchposted 17 years agoin reply to this

I don't care if It needs knowledge or not, I don't want to lose my time to do it or anything else.

  5. thecounterpunch profile image60
    thecounterpunchposted 17 years ago

I remind that the adsense ID is public: you just look up the source of any html page and you can pick it ! So it's really astonishing me that you mean it would be insecure to do such things.

As for selling, it's not the question as for me. I'm not selling my hubs at all.

I did not say that you were selling your hubs Counterpunch, i said
"it will open the gates for other hubbers to sell their pages to the highest bidder and for unscrupulous people to scam other hubbers out of money".........jimmy

I doubt I have the power to open any gate big_smile. And if some hubpagers want to sell their hubs why would you want to forbid them it is their ownership (or maybe I didn't understand well and the articles are owned by Hubpages ??? then I would stop): do you want to forbid to sell cars just because there are scam sellers for cars ?

Reading Jimmy's post, he was expressing concern about a larger possible consequence of your small idea, Counterpunch, and I think he has a point. However, I don't know there's much we can do about it.

How would HP ever police whose Adsense or Amazon ID was on a Hub?  If you wanted to transfer ownership of your Hub to someone else, all you'd have to do is give them your username and password.  So while I agree with Jimmy that it wouldn't be a good thing, in practice I don't think it's within anyone's power to prevent it.

While I don't think Counterpunches plan is the right move I think it's a long stretch to believe that one person giving away their Adsense earnings will open Pandora's Box.
