      As much as I'm not an Apple fan, this truly is a sad day for the technology world. He was a true techno master and the best marketer in the world - he will be truly missed. RIP Steve Jobs

            He left a huge imprint in our world. His influence on Apple corporate culture will keep his legacy alive.
            
            I love my Mac, won't ever return to a PC.

      Whoa.  Beautiful speech.  As a mother of one adopted son, myself, and one I vowed I'd get to college (in contrast to the situation with Steve Jobs' mother(s)), I was particularly moved that he started with that story (but also by the rest of it, as well).  I've saved the link.

   And in this world he helped shape, I saw it on Twitter within 5 minutes after Apple posted the news.
   
   How many Apple products can you see from where you're sitting?
   Me: 5, 4 of which I'm using right now.
   
   My first Apple was a ][+ in 1979. I wrote a novel on it. (The novel was awful, but the Apple ][+ still works.)

   RIP Mr. Jobs.  His Apple IIe (back in the early 80's) was the reason for my love affair with computers!!!

    I felt really bad when I heard the news this evening. I remember when his first Apple was announced in 1977. I tracked his success ever since then. He was a marvelous man who really has changed the world in many ways. Each one of us does things differently in one way or another because of his innovations. Steve Jobs will be missed.

    He really was an a great innovator and an even better salesperson. He made people happy to spend their money. I'll never forget his speech where he said, “If you live each day as if it was your last, someday you’ll most certainly be right.Remembering that I’ll be dead soon is the most important tool I’ve ever encountered to help me make the big choices in life. Because almost everything — all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure - these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important. Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart."

    Steve Jobs was the most greatest revolutionary pioneer in his many achievements in furthering technology from the 20th century to today. He is an inspiration that will go unnoticed because he went from dropout-cult-and then an icon.
