   The 10 laws are not followed by Christians. They deny the 4th law. That one only, the rest they accept, but that 4th one was ok to change. Man can change Gods law.

      Mr. Gusser, you are right. Christians or Jews do not keep Ten Commandments. The Law is impossible to keep it. This is what Lord Jesus said: 
      John 1:17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.  We have new Commandment and it is love. We are new creation and the fruit covers all laws (Gal 5).
      Jews did not receive new creation status then they will be judged by the Law. It is not good news.

   Just one little suggestion to all- do not take everything literally, i.e. up to the letter. Holy writings have lots of figurative description, like for instance, the same "finger of God" with which he "wrote" on the boards.
   
   God is divine, he has no shape, he is everywhere. He has no body and parts of the body.
   The concept of 'the finger of God' is a figurative language, an expression. This feature of language is  called "anthropomorphism" when referring to God, as if He had human shape or human attributes so that humans might better understand what is being said.
   
   So, when you read "finger of God" about tablets of the 10 commandments, it is meant to highlight the Divine source of the 10 commandments, not the physical performance.
   
   The same, when it said that a man was created by God's image- it is also an expression. Not physical image was meant, but spiritual.

      Hello ReuVera. How do you explain God created man to their own image?
      Angels can take visible form of person when they slow down their molecular speed and become visible.  Is God not greater than servants angels? 
      It may be dangerous to interpret all how we wanted.

         Is it not that of a non-physical, spiritual and immortal source of creation?
         
         Could it be, then, that we are inherently non-physical, spiritual and immortal sources of creation?
         
         When we (you, I and everyone else on this planet) turned away from God, so very long ago, we died spiritually. That was the forbidden fruit -- the dichotomies of physicality -- good-evil, right-wrong, wisdom-stupidity, compassion-indifference, confidence-doubt and many others. These are the blood and bone of ego.
         
         And what is the "I" when we talk of our selves? Is it not a composite? Don't we have ego -- that which is vulnerable and craves to be right for its own sake and craves the things of the world? Don't we also have a body and a brain with thoughts usually filled by the ego?
         
         And don't we also have a sleeping soul -- the true self, child of God, within?
         
         Genesis 1:26 talks of being created in His image. Genesis 2:7 talks of being created from the dust of the ground. Dust is not the image of God. So, what is this saying? Could it be that "man" has a dual nature -- that of the immortal spirit and that of the mortal flesh?
         
         Genesis 6:3 seems to echo this sentiment when it says that man is "also" flesh. That man is also anything, means that he is something else, too. Besides "flesh," what is there? Could it be that which was in the "image and likeness" of God?
         
         We cannot honor God and follow in the path of righteousness if we stay turned toward the physical world and toward ego. Humility and repentance are the ways we turn back toward God.
         
         Some don't believe in Hell. Could it be they don't understand what it really is? Hell is being lost and without hope. Hell is staying permanently turned away from God without hope of redemption. Hell is a decision -- a self-made prison.
         
         And what is Heaven? Could it be the revitalization of the true self -- a reawakening of the Holy Spirit within? That seems to be the invulnerable part of us. That seems to be the reason God loves us, because we are "flesh" of His "flesh," and "bone" of His "bone." All of the supposed cruelty God has shown was really love, because we are created in His image. And God is not Homo sapiens. The bodies are unimportant.

      Scriptures cannot be studied by one approach. Every Jewish person knows this.
      Orthodox Jews can study the text of the Torah on any of four levels as described in the Zohar:
      
      Peshat, the plain (simple) or literal reading;
      Remez, the allegorical reading through text's hint or allusion
      Derash, the metaphorical reading through a (rabbinic sermon's) comparison/illustration (midrash)
      Sod, the hidden meaning reading through text's secret or mystery (Kabbalah).

      I have written in Hebrew Phonetics throughout this forum. In order to use phonetics you have to know how to speak Hebrew.

         Ah you always bring such amusement to the forums. Lets get one thing straight ReuVera is a Jewish woman. And as a Jew she gave this thread what is known as transliteration. You on the other hand well you are not so easy to classify, as I never know really what you are except a convert to something. I know I know you will now tell us about your husband that is a Rabbi. Shed some light and tell us from what shul he is a rabbi?
         
         
         
         What is atrocious is you presenting yourself as a Jew. I am never sure what it is you really are but one thing is for sure is that IMHO your take on the Jewish religion is one of a Jew for Jesus. Maybe that is not exactly what you call yourself but you are not what one from the Jewish world would consider Jewish.
         
         
         Beautiful example of  . .The pot calling the kettle black! Nothing that you ever write here (your Hubs included) sound as if you are a traditional Jew. (Reform, Conservative, Orthodox or Reconstructionist).
         Interesting that you "use to be Christian,,, not used to , maybe that was just a little Freudian slip on your part with a little hint of who you really are but what I find curious is, . . Who are you to tell others where their beliefs are taken wrong. If you truly converted to Judaism you would have left the New Testament behind, but you havent.
         
         Someday I truly hope you share with us the true name of whatever group it is that you belong to.

            I would like to know it too. I remember for sure that at the beginning Deborah mentioned that her husband and she were messianic Jews, but then she crossed off this, I can't find this statement anywhere. But there was another hubber who mentioned seeing this info.
            So, I'd like to understand, what really you are, Deborah....
            Real Jews are pointing to you that whatever you write here, it is far from being Jewish as Jews see it....
            So, what is your denomination? Make up your mind and tell us. You can be whatever you want, but do not pretend of being what you are not.

               I believe, ReuVera, we must love people who they are. One Jew can be offensive to God being atheist, or sinner high degree but it is OK 4 you. Than if someone has something to do with Jesus u have the fit.  Moses said I will send you new prophet, listen to him. How can you even listen you are running away. Jesus is Jew. Nobody fit to be the Messiah as Yeshuvah. You will see He will come back to finish the job.
               It is my straight talk.

                  Vladimir, I have nothing against Deborah personally, I respect her for what she is. You attack her much more.
                  Where do you see "a fit"? There was nothing said here about Jesus either. Christians and Messianic "Jews" believe that Jesus was a Messiah, Jews believe he was just an earthy person and they do not idolize him as Christians do. All have a right to believe what they want. However, if you are with Jesus, stick to the religions which promote him. If you call yourself a Jew, it is weird that you would be using New Testament and all the rest. I and wavegirl were pointing only to this discrepancy in Deborah's line.
                  Being an atheist is not a crime, unless an atheist is a bad person, criminal, a thief, etc (there are enough of those among religious people too). God does not hate atheists.
                  
                  "You will see He (you mean Jesus, right?) will come back to finish the job."- sounds like a threatening to me.

   John, I didn't find the video shocking at all. I've known for many years that I'm not yet saved. I'm still cleaning house and I hope I make it in time. When I finish reading the whole Bible straight through (for the first time), then I'll have a better idea how close I am.
