I will be buying the new Xbox. I've been an Xbox fan since childhood so it only feels natural. I also need Halo and I am holding onto hope the next one is better. And of course new ip's and technology.

As for a PC and the PS3, both are highly appealing. When funds return from current critical hits to my bank account I will start saving for a PS3 and buying parts for a decent rig.

I primarily use my PS3 to watch Netflix and Hulu. Unless Sony or Microsoft release some fantastic must have titles this round, it might be awhile before I jump into the next gen.

Plus, I'm kinda feeling nostalgic for Nintendo. Maybe I'll purchase a Wii-U in the future, but as long as my PS3 works, I'm a bit reluctant to do so.

My PC will always be a bigger powerhouse than any console on the market, so it takes something special to push me to buy a new one.

I would most likely not purchase any next gen console which does not allow people to buy used games, attaching the new games forever to your account. I would be more inclined to buy an OUYA smile

Never quite understood why people buy consoles when we all know PC games are WAY BETTER, i mean PC versions (given the best hardware is provided: VGA, RAM, CPU etc). Simple test, play Elder Scrolls Skyrim on both platforms and you'll feel the difference instantly.

A console is but a computer after all smile It's a different market, there are plenty of exclusive titles for consoles, and shelling out $300 for one vs $3k for a high end PC is more appealing to parents. Plus there's a better used game market.

You should never be spending $3k on a PC. I built a high end PC that plays Starcraft 2 on ultra settings for $1k. And the graphics are way better than any system. PC is better than systems. Hands down.

Well yeah, I built my own system as well, but how many parents can do that for their kids? smile

Good point. I guess that is a restriction less computer savvy people would face. There are some companies out there though that sell gaming computers for under a grand.

I'll be purchasing the next Xbox but no way I will buy the next PS. I ready an article the other day about the new PS4 and I cannot believe people are still supporting Sony. The PS4 is scrapping the PS3 Cell processor and going to AMD. This of course makes the PS4 incompatible with all prior PS releases. The PS4 will not be backwards compatible with the prior systems games, and that includes all of your PSN downloaded games. So sad. They are so money hungry that they have no respect for their customers. That is why I will stay with my Xbox 360 that still lets me play the original Halo released on the first system. And before it's even brought up (because it's apparently the only rebuttal PS people have) I have no problem paying for my online subscription. Sony can drop your connection anytime they want just because they feel like it. Xbox cannot, and will not, do that. I'll pay for that security.

After seeing the PlayStation 4 launch I'm not yet convinced to be honest. With PlayStation Plus and still great games being released the only thing that will convince me to get on the bandwagon quicker are killer games really. I'm not sold on the deep social integration (not that I'm antisocial but wary of how much access to give companies) or the rumoured 'Always online' for the Xbox 720. Naturally I will eventually give it but whereas for me the PS3 was a day 1 purchase (such a jump from PS2) the PS4 at the moment seems like PS3.5.

I've always struggled with PC gaming personally - always liked the instant play of consoles eve though PC's will always be superior graphically because tech moves so quick and consoles can't keep up!

I think we've begun to reach a point where our gaming hardware has surpassed our gaming software. Other than beefing up the systems so they can handle multiple video streams for 3D and multi-tasking, we probably won't see a huge jump anytime soon.

I used to get the new consoles the first day they were released. But i don't think I'm going to do that this time. Recently I've been playing just PC games.
