Anyone else left-handed, right-sided?

   Anyone else left-handed, right-sided?
   
   I use my left hand to write, brush teeth, fence, use a fork, but my right hand to throw a ball, hit something, use a golf club or baseball bat, cut, look threw viewfinder (though right eye weaker), listening ear etc.

   I'm a similar version of "mixed".  Not long ago I saw that it's now understood that it isn't all that rare for people to be mixed.  I use the left hand for writing and teeth brushing and often using a fork.  With stuff that requires strength - or even just the overall feeling of strength -  I'm right-handed; hit and catch a ball or use viewfinder.  With some things I'm not sure which side to use or else I'll just use whatever side is most convenient.  Ironing; hand-sewing;  playing badminton; sometimes using a fork; smoking - all things I switch back and forth with.
   
   I pretty much feel very right-sided - as if I'm really strong on the whole right side and I'm kind of dragging the whole left side of me along just because there needs to be a left side in order stand up.   lol   It seems to me - at least in my own case - that the left side is for dexterity.  The right is for tasks involving strength.  With the tasks like sewing; which don't require particular dexterity or "more complicated/advanced" message-from-hand-to-brain stuff the way writing does; it seems either side does fine.  I like to think I got "the best situation" handedness-wise:  If the stronger right side is more at risk of injury because of being used for strength-requiring things all the time; that leaves the weak-but-dextrous left hand in the event of a hand injury - which I actually did have at one time and was happy to be able to keep drawing and writing in spite of it.   :   One problem has been that the world tends to think people who write left-handed are creative and have wild imaginations.  I'm not that kind of "left-handed" and yet have often had people assume that I'm "creative and imaginative" - and not in a good way by the way - when I'm so different from stereotypes about left-handed people would seem to suggest.

      I have the "either hand" category too!  Sewing, make-up, darts etc.   I struggle with a fork in my right hand, but chopsticks are okay..  (comma key, no prob!  at least you didn't use "threw" for "through"   must have been thinking about throwing..)

      I forgot make-up - yes both hands.  I don't think I've ever thrown a dart.  I think I'd lean toward right-handed with that one.  A tricky one for me is drawing with the right-handed mouse.  My left hand is useless with the mouse..

   My brother can use both hands to write, eat and do anything with them. I believe you can also train from young to use both hands. It is said that those left-handed people are much more smarter than right-handed.

      Get your brother on the site!  Is he a music/math person?  Has he ever tried using his toes like fingers?  I think left-handed people often use the brain in different ways, and this can make interesting differences.

   I'm ambi-dexterous, use the right hand to write, and the left for most other tasks, sports, etc.  I once read that a high amount of people with ADD or ADHD are ambi-dexterous.

      can your brain type solve A or B faster?  Make problems correct by moving one line.  (Everyone I've asked has found one easy and one hard, but not the same!
      A).    IV = III + III                               or                  B). III = III + III

   I am left-handed but when I was in a private Christian academy when I was about 7 they decided that people who wrote with their left hands were of the devil so they tied it behind my back and made me write with my right hand. I still write with my left hand, but can do everything else with the right. Strange but true...lol..

      What year and location was this??  I am so sorry this was done to you. Traveling in certain countries (especially India) I often had to sign for things w right hand.  I also broke one of my arms age about 7. Thanks for reminders!

      This was a little over 30 years ago and in Indiana...unfortunately I was not traveling..lol...Sorry to remind you of bad things! It is not a big deal to me anymore, but I wonder if that is why I decided Wicca was the way for me.

   I'm a true left-dominant. I use my left hand for everything. My left arm is significantly stronger than my right.
