What is the best way you have lost weight?

What is the best way for you to lose weight?  How much weight do you want to lose or have successfully lost?

Weightlifting has done it for me. Muscle burns more calories than fat does, so I can eat more while I lift (yay)!

Of course, fueling my new muscles through delicious healthy food is the best way to go. big_smile

I lost some weight using my own regime which involved walking and exercising and cutting down on food. The difference being that I didn't want to feel stressed out whilst doing this - I refused to follow quirky diets such as a cabbage only diet or anything drastic like that. So I devised my own system, (and wrote a hub about it) - basically eating the same foods but lowering amounts, and steadily increasing the distances and way I walked and exercised.

Counting calories and macros as well as a healthy mix of cardio and weights. I found exercises I enjoyed and stuck with them. I lift weights and do bodyweight exercises 3-4 times a week and do cardio 4 times a week.  I also created a motivation board in my house that I look at every day with motivation quotes, pounds lost, pounds to lose, and pictures of fit people that I am inspired by.

The motivation board helps a lot indeed.  And if you could get together friends who are also wanting to stay fit, that would be a perfect group fit too.

High protein diet cutting out most carbs, no sweets, took a multi-vitamin, drank only water (No soda, juice or alcohol), and walked 3 miles a day around a  high school track (every) day, while listening to music on my iPod. Lost 30lbs in less than two months.

If you are taking about fat weight then the best way I lost weight was by going to the beach. I started biking to provincial parks with beaches. Besides the biking I also hiked and did some swimming when it was warm enough. Basically I went to the beach once a week and lost fat.

At first I lost weight because my fat weight decreased more than my muscle weight increased. However I ended up gaining weight. My fat weight decreased because I got rid of most of it but my muscle weight increased. So I was slimmer but 25 pounds heavier. The extra muscle made it much easier to keep the fat off.

Going to the beach once a week increased my appetite. I needed to eat more food, not less. I did lose 25 pounds at the end of last summer. It was easy because I just stopped biking to the beach and my appetite decreased. However I as I lost weight I became fatter.
