   What are your favorite novels or stories by Kurt Vonnegut?
   
   I'm going to say Slaughter House Five, The Sirens of Titan, and Cats Cradle.  Vonnegut also had two letters that have been published that were also interesting: one was to his parents saying that he survived the war, the other was to a school that was trying to ban his books.  Those letters are also two of my favorite things he wrote, even though they don't fall under the category of stories or novels.

   I've only read "Slaughter House Five," but enjoyed it very much; I liked the movie version of the novel as well!

   I like everything he wrote, but my favourites are Sirens of Titan and Breakfast of Champions.
   
   One thing Vonnegut wrote that's stayed with me is a piece of advice on writing. He said you have to be ruthless in cutting out sentences and passages that don't fit your narrative - even if they're the best thing you ever wrote, you have to be prepared to let them go.

   An appropriate question given that next week is Banned Books week! This is a toss up for me between Slaughter House Five and Cats Cradle.

   Cat's Cradle is great.  Mother Night is really great.
   
   Slaughterhouse Five, though, is probably my favorite novel ever.  I even got "Everything is Beautiful and Nothing Hurt" tattooed on my back last year.
