Well, let's be honest here Deb.  There are some things that I simply cannot do.  However, I will always try first, or at least do the research to determine if I can do it or not.  I never just automatically call in help.  Way to tight with my money and way too stubborn. smile

Painting, I'll do it and save money. If there is demo, we will have fun with some hammers smile But if it is a big job, like new tile, my husband can do it. He used to work construction. So yes, we do it mostly ourselves.

I was a remodeler, so I loved doing my own work.  I recall making a second story for my large shed, and mystified friends, as I handled that little affair myself(Ah, the beauty of clamps!)

I love the look on a friend's face when you tell them you did the project yourself. Glad you can enjoy that feeling too smile

Well...maybe if I get my tools out and start measuring and look puzzled enough,
my neighbor will do it for me? Before we got married, I warned my wife that I am not Mr. Fixit at all. So, if anything major comes along, we hire it done. If it is minor (enough) I will try it.

Nothing wrong with that!  Not everyone likes to clean up their own mess that they make, either, or have the house in an uproar while they are doing the work.
