Do you save money? I mean do you put money into a savings account regularly?

Do you save money?  I mean do you put money into a savings account regularly?

Do you make enough money to save money?  How do you save it?   Do you save even though you can't afford to save?  Are you cutting corners to save?
Or do you simply not save, because you can't?

Not a savings account. I put it into a special box inside my home that requires a code to get into it. I don't cut corners, I simply hold myself back from splurging to splurge later to get better products.

I have money transferred out of my account every pay day. I have created a budget that allows me to save money for the time being.  Unfortunately, I have a bunch of expenses that are coming up that may prevent me from saving for a few months.

Well, since you've been wise enough to save you stand a chance of meeting those expenses - and that's a bonus.  Besides, it's a good idea to set up budget plans for without them, it is almost impossible to save!

Yes, I always try to save money. This way I will use it in an emergency. When I have it in my bank account there is less temptation to spend it on the go differently from my money in my wallet that I usually spend in the same day. Saving money is a good habit that I recommend to everyone. What I do is to have a personal budget and compare in which category for example food or entertainment, I am expending the most. then I compromise myself to spend less money in that category for the next month and that way I can control my economy.

Learning how to economize stands you in great stead.  Life is full of surprises and having money set aside  is always useful, it gives you choices.

Yes, I have money automatically put into my money market account from the checking account. It isn't a huge amount, but it adds up over time. I have found this the easiest way to be consistent in savings.

It's very good advice, thank you - also because you give the impression you have been doing it for some time

Yes, I've been saving money since I first began earning money at the age of 16. Every time I get paid I transfer over however much I can afford to save, and then I refuse to touch my savings until I need them for something. By doing this I've been able to afford to buy 2 cars outright, and still have money leftover for the future.

That is admirable - great you don't ever have that interest to pay on borrowing for the cars.  Nice you're managing to have some money for the future too.  I think saving money is a great, rewarding habit.  Wish I'd learned it!

I would love to be able to do that. However, me being a stay at home mom, and my fiance has not had enough hours at  his job,We are not quite that blessed to save money. As soon as he gets paid and we pay bills, we aren't broke but don't have enough to put away because we always have the unexpected happen and its just not a good time for us right now. The way we look at for now, is all of our bills are paid, we have plenty of food in our house and the car has a full tank of gas, and us and the kids don't need anything so we don't stress about the things we don't have right now.

I was wondering if I'd ever hear from someone like me.  I have never been able to save a penny!  I brought two children up single handed and ever since I have to keep myself and money coming in is never enough to pay for everything!  Admire savers!

Trust a bank with my savings?, no chance. I do save, but it's not in a bank and its not in $ money form.

Helpful comment here.  Banks haven't proved worth their salt recently have they?  And money is unstable (in value).

No, I don't make alot but I m very tight with my purse ( I put my money away once a month into savings account) and I never buy on impulse. I 've always been this way from just a little girl. When I shop, I buy only what is needed!

That is extraordinary and so sensible.  you prove it is a habit learned whilst young.

Yup, the money from ancillary stuff like writing on hubpages all goes into one (rather sad and small) account that I don't spend.
Maybe one day it will amount to something... but for now, I'm just enjoying the writing.
Saving is a very tough habit to learn, but a very valuable one - I am working on it.

Whenever I get a sum of money, I normally split it in half and keep one half for normal spendings (on necessities and small purchases) and the other half goes straight to the bank.
I'm not really saving for anything in particular, but I like the idea of having something for a rainy day or for something fun in the future, like traveling. I just try to save money in general.

This is making you rich.  I think it's amazing to be able to save half and of course your savings will be fun to spend on traveling!  Nice dream plans Cardia and may you have very happy travels.

I don't earn but since my husband and I are partners so his earnings are mine, too! We save in banks. We plan to invest in stocks, also. We have quite a good experience about stock market.

We just live in a world that works mostly with money. We want to travel a lot so it requires money.

I really don't think people cannot afford to save. It only needs proper budgeting. Most  people buy unnecessary things which the money spent could have been saved for the future...who knows when you might be needing it, right? So it's always good to have something saved.

I'm someone who hasn't been able to save!  Life is tough for some of us and money just isn't ever enough, but somehow we do get by.  You are absolutely right though, it is important to have some sort of plan in place for that rainy day.

I save on a monthly basis, splitting a portion of money into a saving account after paying bills and portioning out my monthly pocket money.

I think the habit of pre-setting a monthly pocket money since young is good and this habit last till even now. Both my husband and I have pre-set monthly pocket money for our own food, travel and small expenditures. I like to be able to work within a pre-set portion of money which i can be responsible for.
