Should the USA be more involved in Middle eastern politics?
The USA government made a world wide statement when the protesters rallied in Tahir square in Eypt, should these things be left to world organisations?
When has the US not been deeply involved in Middle Eastern politics? Since WW2, the US is involved in every region and area of the Middle East and most countries of the world and for good reason. The US can be credited as the major catalyst to the lifestyle improvements throughout the world via US business with the aide (and sometimes hinderance) of the US government.
For all its mistakes, the US has changed the world for a better place. Where do all the countries of the world send their brightest to study? the US.
Although not perfect and still very young, the US is a light to the world.
To answer your question directly: yes, we need to be involved in supporting people and our own national interests as well. If the US were to stop all influence (not possible) the US would create an incredible vacuum that would destabilize the entire world
Thanks for the input, I suppose being the light of the world is a heavy torch to carry.
Especially when the world is watching.
Good question. The thing that concerns me is that if a radical government that hates our guts took over, can that affect our oil? Look at what is happening in Libya and other Middle Eastern countries! I like to think that the USA is live and let live up to a point-When oil is affected and our pocketbooks gets hit hard- Will we wait until that happens to complain and demand our government do something or will we demand action now before it is too late.
What troubles me is that we have too much dependence on oil. We, Americans, are quite creative and have an abundance of natural gas. We are the Saudi Arabia of natural gas, yet politics keeps us from beng self sufficient. We need to have sound leadership that knows what they are doing and not captive to the special interests.
It really doesn't matter what the US does. They'll be criticized for it either way.
i think the U.S. should leave the middle east to fend for itself. sooner or later it's going to blow up in their faces and then it will be too late. the biggest problem today on the world stage with the U.S. is the need for their government to get into other countries problems and it is hurting the U.S. badly. leave the middle east alone because that part of the world will always have some kind of conflict happening, it's just the way it is.
The USA needs take care about United States Of America and not on the problems of other countries and interfering in the values of other cultures.
I think we should be more involved with what is going on in our own country. We often get swept up in politics over seas and we fail to see the trouble we have here.
I don't see any reason to break with a decade old tradition especilly in a Euro-Asian Country.

Why should (or shouldn't) the US be involved in Middle Eastern civil conflicts?

Because the bible centres around the middle east (no other part of the world was mentioned). The oldest bones and a recent DNA study traces early humans back to Africa. How does this fit with Adam and Eve being Middle Eastern (assuming this because of the rivers mentioned in the garden of eden + the...

What will it take for USA to realize we need to start minding our own business?Wouldn't this be the simplest solution to all the issues with other countries? I hate to sound cold hearted but if they want to kill their neighbors it's none of our business. Why not just work towards being 100%...

Abortion is a moral, religious and health issue. Why is it in the middle of the political arena? What happened to the separation of state and church? Why is this issue being used as a smokescreen blinding those who can make a difference in our economy. Jobs, food on the table and keeping our...

I thought Blame Canada was hilarious movie and the main cause of that war was Jewish women did not appreciated Canadian humour and Sadam had a romantic affair with Satan. I can think of many more fake reasons for the US greedy elite to invade and brainwash Canada and US into war. USA has invading...
