Is collective bargaining, the cause of America's fiscal problems?
Germany has the most successful economy here in Europe and possibly the world. German workers have at least 50% more disposable income: after deductions, than any other workforce in Europe. High wages in Germany are due, almost entirely, to the collective bargaining power of German trade unions. The German high wage economy obviously works. So the answer is no - collective bargaining is not the root cause of America's fiscal problems. America's fiscal problems are due - in no small part - to the rapidly diminishing spending power of average Americans and the greed: accompanied by an obsession with instant pecuniary gratification, that typifies America's financial elite. You could say that it 's the, 'making a fast buck' syndrome, that lies at the heart of all of America's financial woes.

"I just spent four days in Madison and the state Capitol, reporting, and saw absolutely no violence. There were no arrests on Saturday, when 80,000 liberals rallied and a smaller number of Tea Partiers counter-protested. There were no arrests last night when hundreds of angry protesters...

In Michigan, caregivers are required to pay $30 a month in union dues to the SEIU! Even if they are the parents of disabled children. This adds up to $6 million a year! 95% of what the union uses to buy politicians is spent on Democrats, even though not all those who pay dues...
