If you saw a motoist stranded on the side of the highway, would you stop to help?
Or would you drive by and call 911? Or would you just drive by? WHY?
Only if he was horribly bleeding. Because I would have my partner's stories of his hands getting robbed of all their skin because of bike accidents. I would feel honor bound to help out at that point.
I was raised right, if you see someone who needs help you help them, unless the guy looks really rough or like he is carrying a weapon you stop, it annoys me how no one even stops for hitchhikers anymore, when I was young my father would pick people up if we were driving past and talk to them, he made many lasting friends that way but people usually stopped, the other day my fuel gage stuck and I got stranded on the highway, in a suit no less, I just wanted a lift from my car to the service station so I could get fuel in my Jerry can then I could get another one back, or so I thought, I tried for an hour before I called the Taxi company which since it was the middle of nowhere highway ended up costing me almost four hundred dollars. It saddens me that most people don't help each other anymore and since no one does it no one pays it forward anymore either.
Anyway I am sorry to have dumped a rant on your question so: I would stop, because it's the right thing to do.
To be honest is sometimes painful. I think I should, but probably wouldn't due to my sincere belief that I only make matters worse.
I agree with lburmaster now in that I would only stop if the motorist was bleeding or had obviously been in an accident.
I used to side with Josak thinking that stopping was the right thing to do in all occassions, and I have helped motorists with car trouble out several times. However, the last time that I helped a motorist who was stranded in a snow storm, I ended up getting my purse stolen. I hate that the experience has caused me to not stop for a motorist since then, but as a woman, I can't take the chance of something worse happening in the future.
I hate to say this, but if I were alone, no. In this day and age people use all sorts of ways to find victims and I don't want to become a victim. I would definetely call 911 for them though. The only way this answer would change is if the person was in an obviously bad circumstance...then I would stop and do whatever I could to help. But just stranded? hmmm. I'd dial 911 and wait with doors locked until help arrived and then be on my way.
i do all the time. i rarely pass by someone who is stuck on the side of the road. in fact, on monday i was going out of town to do an estimate and i ended up stopping to give a couple a boost.
Because of the changes in society over the years..and a personal experience in this matter.(being a medical professional, I did stop to offer help and inadvertenly put my children in harms way, as it was a domestic dispute on the side of the road) so.I would choose to call the local/highway or county law enforcementor Fire dept. and report the situation. I probably wouldn't have the capabilities/knowledge to assist anyway..society is so full of scams and life is precious, why take a chance ? Just my thoughts..great question..
It depends. I've never seen a MOTOIST, so probably not. Yeah, I'll help a motorist. It's the golden rule!
I am so sorry that I have a typo in my question. I hope you will all forgive me. Of course it is suppose to be "motorist".
Yes. However, in Florida, you had better be carful. Thugs will sucker you into stopping and mug you. It doesn't hurt to keep your pistol handy until you assertain the motives of the motorist.

Would you date a homeless person if you found that you were sincerely attracted to him/her?Not all homeless people look like what you might think...Imagine that you are in a social setting, and you meet a nice guy or girl that you find that you are physically attracted to him/her. You see...

Should I be mad/upset??I don't want to complain or anything but I was wondering if this was something I should be unhappy about. Do tell.I'm on a very fixed income and I come over to help my parents free w/ eldercare very often. They don't pay me, I don't mind helping them and getting a few dollars...
