   Obama white house staffers - women staff paid less than men. Thoughts?
   
   Obama has been out campaigning that he wants equality for women and especially equal pay for equal work. Yet he oversees the white house and they pay the female staff less than the male staff for equal positions. Is he "just talking" and trying to pull the wool over womens eyes until the election is over?

   I might be wrong but I don't imagine Obama is actually in charge of how much people are paid, it is however an fine example of why we need legislation to ensure that women have the same opportunities for advancement as men.
   
   Let's stop pointing fingers and just fix it.

   I mostly agree with Josak, though if Obama really wants to change things, he really should get his own house in order.
   But more than anything, I think that just shows how widespread the problem is. Obama's own campaign team probably didn't know that. How many of us work in a business where our coworkers are getting paid dramatically different salaries, just because their genitalia looks different?

      Yes and I already commented on that above, it should be changed by law so it cannot happen which is precisely what the democrats are pushing for.

   It's simple, because they don't get paid less. Fox "news" averages what all the men make, and compare it to what all the women make, regardless of title. Let's say, for example, I own a hotel and you work for me at the front desk. Does it mean I pay women less because I get more money than you? Of course not. If you actually look at the report, https://opendata.socrata.com/Government … /73t8-rw4g you will see that for the same exact title and status, the pay is the same. There are a few exceptions, but in the exceptions it isn't limited to men getting paid more than women. Sometimes it's one man getting paid more then another, and in at least one situation it a women getting paid more than 3 men.
   
   I'll give you a hint to why there are always stories like this, controversy sells papers and gets traffic, regardless if it's true or not. As a country we stopped holding our news organizations to standards regarding the truth a very long time ago.
