What kinds of changes do you think will come from the death of Kayla Mueller?
She was the frist person to die at the hands of those in ISIS? Now her death and life are being examined on the Television. What things will come of this...good....bad?
I am a very positive person but I think no changes will come.
The policy in general seems to be not to deal with them for money...or for other means that would seem to be 'giving in' to them.
So I see no change on the horizon.
the only change would be for those who consider going there, NOT to go. Precious Kayla was so moved by her conviction that she must go and make a difference that she went. Perhaps she would have gone even if she knew what would ultimately happen. She felt so strongly that this was her calling...to reach out. I recently viewed an interview with her parents on CBS and they spoke of what a remarkable young woman she was.
Perhaps her life will serve as a testimony to the strength of character that our beliefs display.
Don't see any changes coming out of this. Her tragic death does, however, serve as a warning to those working in the Middle East, regardless of why, of the dangers waiting there.
I agree with you pstraubie. It seems all of these young people dying at the hands of ISIS are idealistic people who are motivated to help in that area of the world as a calling or a purpose for their lives. I hope more young people will not go Syria no matter how idealistic they are. These humanitarians, journalists, doctors and nurses are just easy prey for being kidnapped by ISIS.
I don't know when the world is going to wake-up and destroy ISIS. We are going too 'easy' on them and so far ISIS is winning this 'war' we are in with them. If it takes boots on the ground to destroy ISIS, then that is exactly what we should be doing. In the past the Iraqi soldiers threw down their weapons (which ISIS confiscated) turned and ran when ISIS invaded their cities and towns. Do we really think the Iraqis are going to vanquish ISIS come this April/May?
I don't see any changes either. These people, including Kayla Mueller, are adults, and it would take a blanket order from our government to keep them from going there. Otherwise it would be a civil rights violation to keep back individuals who are going to these dangerous areas for humanitarian reasons. Now those who are going to join ISIS or Al Qaeda are a different story because they are a national security risk. You have to look at this from the standpoint of law, regardless of emotion involved.

A difficult one to answer without offending people.I have made massive changes in my own life, and the battle is between you and your inner voice, it tends to lie to you to make things easier and create excuses so you can procrastinate and not do the hard stuff in life (and no I am not a crazy...
