   Who are some of the MOST HATED and DEMONIZED, even MARGINALIZED groups in
   
   America?  Not we all talking about racial/ethnic groups here but groups outside the racial/ethnic category that are hated by the dominant American culture and/or society?

   I don't know about demonized, but I know that in many areas having a Southern accent will get you painted as stupid which I think is not very kind.  A lot of people go out of their way to squelch their accents so that people don't just assume they are "hillbillies" or "rednecks".  My grandfather went through that being from Southern MO.  He was so desperate to be taken seriously up here that he worked hard to lose his accent.  He was able to be successful after that because people took him more seriously.  Not cool at all.
   
   I think Muslims are unfairly painted with a broad brush as well in this country and that is sad, because the vast majority are not like the radicals we see on TV. 
   
   Atheists are also demonized and portrayed as untrustworthy and immoral, which is probably true for a few, but not for the vast majority. 
   
   Oh and feminists, that word has been demonized by many.  Those who want equal pay and to ensure women's rights aren't delivered back to the stone ages are painted as "radicals" to keep them in line.

      The comedian Jeff Foxworthy remarked that if a person speaks w/a Southern accent, some points are immediately deducted from his/her IQ as people assume that h/she is stupid.The Brooklyn accent/NY is assumed to be working class by many people.

   Another group that is demonized is "liberals" or even the opposite ones called "conservatives". Each is said by the other like it's a bad word.
   And then there are the "socialists". Everybody hates them and that's a weird thing because the point of socialism is to be "social" which is a good thing.
   But the weirdest thing of all is to hate and demonize atheists just because no has proved to them that a god or god exists (yet). We're not even saying that he doesn't exist at all, just that we haven't seen any proof that indicates a god or gods exist.
   And of course, homosexuals, "demons", "witches", pot heads, or (insert the object of your bigotry here).
   It's like US against THEM! And it all depends on who is "us" and who is "them".
   The hatred is hurting everyone!

   Atheists apparently. If what I heard in a video is even remotely true, you are more likely to see a lesbian potsmoking liberal, or something like that, as president than you are to ever see an atheist thats all for the people as one.
   
   If HP is anything to go by in regards to how people view atheists, I dont find the above to be all that surprising. Then when I think about the insane BS people say about atheists out in the real world and even on live TV, I believe the above 100% percent. Its mental.

      Why SHOULD he change?  He has a right to be an atheist. If people don't like it, WELL.............so what.  No one should have to conform to the majority consensus.
