   If it were possible, would you choose to be immortal?
   
   Rub a genie for a wish, God granted ability, however you aquire it... and no special caveats or hollywood notions like, "you can be immortal, but you have to be a vampire and kill others". Everything else stays the same, just you'll never die, would you go for it?

   No... I wouldn't want to live like That! I wouldn't want to live a normal life forever. That's much too long. I WOULD GET TIRED OF THE UPS AND DOWNS AND THE CRAZY TURNAROUNDS, AFTER A WHILE.

   Maybe, if all the ones dear to me could be as well, otherwise it would be too painful to see them all go and be all alone, and having to start building relationships time and again (just to lose them again after a while.....).

   According to the core Hindu philosophy, I am already immortal. This "I" is not the body, not the mind, not the intellect and not the ego. My body will perish one day. But "I" will remain immortal.

   definetly. the only regret i'll have when i die is that life is too short. i'd love to be immortal so i could make real changes in this world over time.

    If you have to kill others it would not be a good thing.  Kinda sounds like an eternal hell to me.
    
    Eternity is a long time.  Maybe that is why life is so short.  Nature seems to know best.

    I'd go for it.  I think you could share a lot of good with people based on your experiences throughout history.  Plus there's never enough time to do EVERYTHING you wanted, and this would make it possible.  Would be rough to lose friends and family, but the good you could bring to others may be worth it.

    No way. I don't even think that it would be the killing that would get to me first, but witnessing loved ones pass away before me...I think that would be awfully depressing. I can't fathom the idea of a life of loneliness. Also, I think that fact that we don't have eternity to do everything that we want to makes us push harder to reach our goals, and I think that helps us to lead really extraordinary lives.

    To clear it up, I was actually trying to imply you could be immortal without having to do any of the hollywood vampire stuff, lol... your life as it is now, just without having to get old or sick and die.
    
    As for me, much agreed that life is just too frggin' short, and, perhaps not so much for myself, but there are a lot of brilliant minds and talents out there who's loss is quite a shame... all the knowledge and skill they accumulated over a relatively short lifespan just gone forever.
    
    On the other hand, also agree that having to lose family and loved ones might be too much to deal with... if they couldn't come along for the ride, that might be too much to bare.

    I would hate to outlive any children that I'd have, and if I had to choose this age, it'd be worse. No one wants to be sixteen forever, no matter what.

    Yes; but it would depend on the fine print. Would I be forever young, in good health, impervious to injury.
    To simply live forever regardless of condition would likely turn out to be a bad thing, given that eventually something bad will happen to the quality of life.
    My personal belief is that the planet, as we know it, and the overall quality of life for all things is coming to an end rather quickly. Eventually it will all sort out but it may well be with mass extinction, including us. Could be rather boring as well as lonely waiting for things to return to an enjoyable level.
    That said I would probably want an exit option.

    If all my loved ones, friends and family would be immortal with me then sure. I dont want to keep on living with out those I care the most about being with me.

    That's a tough pill 2swallow lol it would depend for instance if ur married would ur spouse b able to have immortality as well, At minimum? If ur not married would ur children b able to have it as well?? I mean life is full of ups & downs no matter how rich,successful, or poor ur. Immortals will experience others dying co-workers (u gotta work), friends, pets even. At some point I will get tired of lifes struggles& heartache & would want to experience eternal rest. Unless I had the ability to grant others who wanted immortality pets too lol. Also I would have to be giving back somehow like having some save the children campaign all over the world,finding cures for diseases  cause if ur doing something positive u could do it forever rite? U GOt TIME :-)
