the best way for me to describe a southern Gentleman, is from my own personal experience.
A southern gentleman will always rise from his chair when a lady enters the room, no matter if she is a member of the family, a neighbor, or a family friend. This is normally a respect shown to women over the age of nineteen.
It is a southern gentleman's duty to protect women, to never allow them to be molested or insulted, and to deal extremely harshly with anyone who does. This is instilled in southern gentlemen at a very early age. We understand that we are the physically stronger of the species, thus the protectors.
A southern gentleman does not believe in going "dutch". When we are in the company of a lady in public for the purpose of dating, we believe that it is our sole responsibility to pay for everything associated with that date. We would consider it to be a great embarrassment for a date in our company to pay for her own meal.
A southern gentelman never shakes hands with a woman, understanmding that when a man shakes hands with another man, they are taking one another's measure. the bones in lady's hands are more delicate than ours, therefore it should be taken gently when introduced, and folded.
A southern gentleman will never allow a lady in his company to carry her own packages. He will either carry them for her while shopping, or hire someone to do so.
A southern gentleman will protect his family at all cost. He will kill for his family. He will die for his family. Period.
A southern gentleman is raised to believe that he is the head of the house-hold, but at the same time has a great deal of respect for his wife, mother, grandmother, and any other women of mature years in his immediate family. this is because we understand that women are the givers of life.
A southern gentleman does not condemn, but actually expects, his wife to take care of the home and children. Being a house wife is one of the hardest jobs there is. And contrary to what the feminist say, can also be one of the most rewarding.
A southern gentleman is always there for his friends and neighbors in their time of need, but we are not nosy. Their business is their business.
And last, a southern gentleman subscribes his life exactly in this order: God, family, country. And he will not hesitate to fight for all three.
Well first let me say I am not southern but rather I am Texan, a gentleman does not shy away from shaking a woman's hand because she is delicate but shakes it because she is an equal.
A gentleman cleans up after himself as well as his family because it is no ones particular job!
A gentleman opens doors for all and waits for all to enter.
A gentleman protects because that is what men should do, he would never look at it as a duty to be performed but as a way of life.
A gentleman will allow a lady to do what she wants to do and offers his assistance if she wants it.
Ladies come in all ages and sizes and a gentleman respects their views.
In the words of a great southern gentleman "That's all I got to say about that!"
a southern gentleman is respectful, says and tells things as there are
if i love u ilove u
if i dont i will tell you
do anything for the ones he loves

Does the number of real life friends a person have define them?In other words, is the number of friends that a person has important? Do outsiders see it as a status booster or a status dropper?

Double standards or something else?: Define a woman who sleeps with a lot men? Now define a man?Why is it, that when a women sleeps around she is considered a hoe/slut/whore but when a man does the same he is considered a pimp/player/ "the man"? I have heard many sides of this...

Why is it that many women think a guy is gay and not see him as a gentleman if he's not aggressively pursuing sex. but is rather wanting to know her.
