If God is almighty and powerful, why does He allow suffering and hunger in certain countries?
It never ceases to amaze me how people have to suffer and be treated like animals because of the governments in some countries, if God can move mountains and other mighty things, why doesn't He step in and stop it.?
Jagged, last I checked children don't get to "choose" to be miserable. There are many unexplainable issues with the God theory. Allowing children and others to suffer for any reason is beyond me. I never have understood how something that "created everything" could possibly allow everything he created to turn to crap!
When He steps in to stop it, we will all know. He gives us free choice. Some do good; some do evil; some are in the gray area. When Adam and Eve chose to eat the forbidden fruit and Satan was their tempter, God told them they were on their own and would have to work hard to survive as would the generations that followed. He told Satan, "All right, you are the prince of this world for now, but your time is coming." This may not be a satisfactory answer to those who don't believe, but why do people want to blame God for suffering when there is always a man behind it? Why doesn't man step up to stop it? Many people don't want God in their lives, yet like to use Him as the whipping pole for everything that goes wrong.
I think we have to understand that what we consider pain and suffering, they consider an everyday way of life. At least they can sleep at night knowing that most of their pain was not self- created. They don't stress over racial issues, stock markets, on employment, drug trafficing and the list goes on. Sure, they deal with hunger and disease and I'm not trying to trivialize that, but one disease they don't have is a guilty conscience.
I don't believe God chose those countries as targets. Somewhere along the line someone chose to live in those areas and pro-create. But they didn't think about the plight of future generations and they would have no means to get away from the environment that is so bad. They can't just move.
I don't think we should be so arrogant as to think we have it so much better. In many ways we do, but in many ways, we are the ones suffering.
God does not allow this pain and suffering or cause it, man does.
God simply gives us free will, however he will intervene if we turn to him. He will work in ways to help you through anything. However God is also just and God does have character hence why we have what is called Gods wrath. He needs to punish because he hates sin so much.
How do we know that some of the evil doers were not led into the hands of the police through the hands of God. What you do comes back to you ten fold.
Well for example, this case with the three girls, God kept them alive, and healthy to an extend that they stayed strong. Look at the suspect,, he wrote on his fb page just days before he was captured..........God is good, miracles do happen. Ironic really.
"dont boast about tomorrow because you never know what the day will bring". Proverbs 27:1
God is not going to force anyone out of free will, however if you repent sins he will always forgive and start you on a new path.
Actually we are the ones not taking care of our planet, God gave us the tools to keep our planet in tact and we humans used the tools for our own selfish purposes, to destroy.
We are destroying Gods planet, so God says fine you want to destroy and sin, then I will allow you to dig your own grave. And they always do in the end.
He allows some to go through trials and tribulations for a learning period, which in return makes us stronger and gives us the courage to go on and make this planet that much better.
So with that said, maybe when we say "lets get together and heal the world" we should act on it. There are so many false prophecies that entice people and turn them away from God, and once again its their free will.
Here is Gods word to some of those false prophets
2 Thessalonians 2:11-12
11 And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, 12 that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
Great question

If God is omnipotent and omnipowerful then why does he allow Poverty, Hunger, Wars etc. to exist?

If God the father almighty cannot lie & cannot do evil then is he NOT all powerful?Considering the God of classical theism is all loving, all merciful and all good - considering that he can do no wrong, cannot be evil, and cannot abuse us, is he then NOT all powerful?

Suffering draws us closer to God, God could say the word and all our toubles would go away. It's through struggles that are true self comes into light and we either turn to God and trust in Him or go the other way and get drowned in defeat and discouragement. Why do you think God allows terrible...

As a person raised to believe in the message that has been preached for years about God and Jesus, and what they can do, and how merciful they are, I have never been able to understand why people continue to pray to God, when He doesn't prevent something He could have, clearly, prevented,...

Have you ever wished you could punish God for allowing the world to be the way it is now.Maybe I am not supposed to ask this question but I am very interested in what people have to say about this issue. This planet is less than desirable place to live according to my evaluation, too much pain and...
