Mention one good that any religion has done to humanity.
I read a lot about the harm that religion has done on this earth. However I feel that religion was a necessity of humans who created it for some valid reason. They must have achieved some good out of religion.
religion has given weak minded people something to lean on. it gives them strength that they wouldn't normally have and i'm pretty sure it has prevented many suicides.
None is good but God, no act is good but for God. What good should humanity expect from God, short of repentance? Can any spiritual force void of the Only True God and Father of Jesus Christ, present anything beyond vanity? I answered that question for myself many years ago.
Religion hasn't done anything good for humanity. It's just religion. Just like poverty is poverty and politics is politics.
Religion is man's interpretation of what he thinks people should do. Religion is a list of do's and don'ts, can's and can'ts, nothing more than a set of limitations.
There are definitely some very beneficial religious practices, but over all there's not much good I see in religion. For me, it's all about a relationship with God
One good thing... hmm, in 18th and 19th centuiries, during the British occupation of India, the practice of immolation was drastically reduced. (the Hindu religion had a practice where when a man in a marriage died, as part of the funeral ritual, he was cremated. HIs widow, was thrown into that cremation fire to join him, usually unwillingly. Christians put a stop to that.. I'm sure there will be a lot of discussion over the Brits being in India, but I'm not going there.
Religion hasn't done anything good or bad. People who follow different religions have done bad things and good things.
I would say the best thing that a belief does is give people a purpose. It really depends on the religion though, some religions do not give people a sense of fulfillment or a sense of purpose. I am a Christian who just recently began to follow Jesus. When I was an atheist I found life rather drab. I did not see a point to existence, and could not find any motivation. Another thing that ate at me was the inability to explain the world relying purely on current scientific knowledge.
Learning about religion led me to understanding Jesus. This has made all the difference. Honestly if you want to know what good religion can do, then spend some with some new Christians, and when I say Christian I mean follower of Christ. If they are not following what Christ laid out in Matthew through to Acts then you may not be getting the most accurate information. Take a look at the way their faith has changed their lives.
Trust me if they truly realize the implications Jesus brings to the table, then you will see some amazing changes in them, and the people around them, for the better. That is the good I see in Christianity at least.

In Christianity, do non believers go to hell? What happens to the people that believe in another religion and another God. If the Christian God is the only true God, then are those people damned?

I just read a post from someone stating that Christianity is based on the Bible which stands to reason, "If Christianity is based off the bible then that means it would have never come to furition since the book would never have been written because no Christian would have existed before...

Why do Christians feel the need to tell us about their religious beliefs?I don't have a problem with Christianity or any religion for that matter, but I view religion/spirituality as a personal and privvate matter and feel that it's best kept that way unless one is specifically asked to expand on...

Can only Christians and those who accept Jesus Christ go to heaven?According to Christianity, only those who have openly accepted Jesus Christ and the Christian faith may go to heaven. If that is the case, what about the African tribe who has never heard of of Jesus? Even if they are good people,...
