Is it true that less people are going to church nowadays?
Or is it about the same as before?
Membership and attendance are declining in most American churches. In those e.g. the Episcopal and Presbyterian that have been taken over by a hierarchy dedicated to using them as institutions to promote secularist progressive ideology, it has been more of a hemorrhage than a gradual erosion. Projections are that in another twenty years American church buildings will be as empty as those in Europe now are, many of them will be sold off for redevelopment of the real estate, and some denominations will be closing up shop due to disintegration.
Some people cheer this on. Some even look gleefully forward to dancing on the grave of American religion. Most are saddened even as they leave church for the last time by institutionalized American Christianity's betrayal of the people, and they continue to practice their beliefs in a different setting.
I think that they are attracted by the wrong thing. They look more at the glitter and the gleam than the integrity of spirit.
You can sum-it-up by saying ,it is quantity without quality.
I have little knowledge of this; however, it certainly appears so. Yet I always loved reading C.S. Lewis' works and I think I am beginning to understand that it is inevitable that it will become smaller. I do believe smaller will mean a strengthening though. Therefore, one could say it is indeed Good News that perhaps a reduction in numbers may just strengthen the Spirit of the body and perhaps with God's Grace become more insulated from the world around.
Afterall, isn't our world really a good world that has gone bad and appears to continue to fall down this path. Thus, I think we can assume a decline. It is what we should expect. However, perhaps this is like a quickening. That my friends is Good News, for the ones that remain; more or less like a maturing of mustard seeds on various forms of ground...
Sadly, but true. But I guess it is God's way of separating the committed ones from the rest.
Yes and no. Traditional denominations are on a steep decline but many non-denominational churches are growing rapidly. I think a lot of this has to with people being tired of religion and they want to truly experience the one true God and have a deep and intimate relationship with Him rather than just putting in their time for the approval of men.

Does going to church make you feel peaceful and calm or does it make you frustrated coming out?

That's the way of the internet. Google isn't the be-all end-all of the internet, and I'm kind of glad I spent a lot of time rarely posting on the forums because there is so much worry about Google this and Google that. Yeah, I know it did cause a big hit, but that's why you gotta be a hustler. Keep...

As a Catholic, I was wondering why is it that every Christian Denominations are lambasting/bashing Catholic doctrines and teachings. This is purely based on my experience when I was still in college when I joined other Christian sect like the Born Again Christians and others.

If Jesus paid for our sins why should we waste time going to church?

As Christians, we should be the most kind and loving because of our faith and because of the ultimate example, Jesus Christ. I've noticed that some denominations are criticized for being different within Christianity. For example, many mainstream Christians seem to focus on the teachings of Paul...
