   Should there be an increase in "pounding the pavement" like the Apostles in the New Testament did?
   
   It seems that the hedonistic idolatry of the nations is at an all time high. We are in moral decline just like in the days of ancient Greece and Rome.
   Should precedence be on regaining back that which has been lost, or spreading the genuine Gospel message?

   The question seems to be one concerning strategy and tactics for evangelism to be conducted by followers of a particular faith.   As such, it might be better suited for a closed meeting of those individuals rather than as a question to people of varying faiths or no particular faith at all.

   Please no.  Bad enough I have to slam to door in the faces of Mormons and Je Hovas. The recent election shows equality is actually winning - which means society is once again setting its moral code to be more inclusive rather than exclusive.  The last thing we need is more stone age thinking.

      The common good.  Respect for fellow humans. Fairness.  It doesn't come from a book, it comes from basic survival instinct.

   There is no denying that there absolutely must be an increase in the amount of evangelism done by Christians in todays world. Fortunately for us, with the amount of human interaction we already get by our everyday interactions, it may not be necessary, atleast not at first, to go door to door spreading the word. Start with sharing with your friends, your fellow employees, and people you see in the store. Remember to be a fisherman, not a hunter when evangelizing. Make them take the bait, then reel them in. If you hunt for them and miss, you could potentially scare them off for a long time

      I think I used the wrong expression, "pounding  the pavement" when I should have used, "follow the example of the apostles".
      
      What would you deem as "bait" in evangelism?

      Trick them?  I suggest going for the low hanging fruit.  People in despair, substance abusers, poor, downtrodden.  They'll go for anything that might help.

   Although people have been won over to Jesus through passing out tracts, knocking on doors, preaching on street corners, etc, etc, the method that has always had the best results seems to be friendship evangelism. As has been said, people don't care how much you know till they know how much you care.

      Just listening can be huge. I've heard examples such as shoveling a neighbors sidewalk, making a meal, giving a warm coat to a needy child, etc, etc, etc.
