   Is it wrong to pray to the Virgin Mary?
   
   Jesus says that we are to pray to The Father after being asked how to pray, so is it wrong to pray to the mother of Christ?

   I think you have answered your own question. If you will remember when Christ was prophesying he was told his family was there to see him. He turned them away; for his family was deity.

   As a former member of the Catholic church it was quite commonplace for people to appeal to or pray to Mary. One of the things I thought that faith had right was to not completely obliterate any references to females having importance.  Other religions throughout the world for example have both God and Goddess - masculine and feminine principles.
   
   As to it being "wrong"  I suppose it depends widely on which faith you follow.  Everyone believes their particular faith to be "right" so - if it's part of your faith, then you will and if it isn't, then you won't.

   I can't speak for other religions, but in the Catholic church we do not pray to the BVM...We ask her to intercede and pray for us through Jesus Christ...The "Hail Mary" articulates that intercession...

      Yes, TW, Grace intercedes for us all. It is synonymous with compassion, and is not a scriptural thing, though mentioned in them. It comes directly from the Absolute Source or its Channels. Yes, Christ was one of them.

      Sin - confessing does not do it it takes REAL REPENTANCE, without which NO ONE  is born again.    A person who has confessed and accepted is not born again unless he also has truly REPENTED ALSO.  To say otherwise is an unscriptural falsehood

      I like your argument, Sinbad, but intercession is not obsolete. Many of our Saints still testify to intervention, as I call it. Christ is ever alive, but yes, even He admits that all comes from the Father within. Still, He remains a Channel. Peace.

   We can all chose scriptures. The Christ also spoke of Faith. There is enough testimonies from many to say that the virgin Mary helped them.
   
   Frankly, if the faith is strong enough and the person is like a child in love and humility, then this encourages receptivity and love of God and the impossible happens.
   
   The great Saint Ramakrisha was not happy to unite with God in only one tradition. He is known for his integral approach of practising his love for God in all the major faiths and coming to the same conclusion. In Love and Light.

   You as a Christian or just as a Human being have the right to speak to all! Prayer is only speech given towards those of the Spiritually World. As a Free Willed Being that Knows the Truth If your believe Its the Truth as a Christian does Chooses to speak to whomever they believe has GOD's ear Be it the Holy Mother or a Loved One Past. Or some other Saint. People pray even to Satan many of them do so unknowingly.
   
   People GOD is not a tyrant seeking your Obedience at the risk of a reprisal if you talk to some one other then HIM All of GOD's creation Speak to HIM directly or indirectly. I have always been taught to go to the Top Dog and It has often gotten me in trouble in this world for doing so. But Jumping the Chain of Command is No longer an Issue as the Vail has been rent.

   Remember your troubles will never be more than you are capable of handling. Remember they are not uncommon troubles. Some one has the answer here on earth for your troubles. Seek and you shall find. Knock and the door will be opened.
   
   Miracles happen every day for troubles that the world can not fix or answer. Our Father is a Loving Father who has been misrepresented by a fallen son a vengeful Liar  and a Murder a thief and a destroyer! Yes Virgina the Devil is very very real.
   
   You have free will Prayers directed to GOD for His Ear will be Brought to His attention as soon as they are Spoken within the Prayee's Heart and mind to whomever the Pray is directed at. He Is all Knowing for this very reason alone. HIS will Is Done in Heaven Always Has been always will be.
   
   We Know for a specific period of Time Here on Earth that this is not the Case! But It will be made right when the Lesson is done.

   YES IT IS ABSOLUTELY WRONG.   Scripture shows us the pattern JESUS  gave us to follow and it is  "Our Father who art in heaven.   WE PRAY TO GOD THROUGH CHRIST who scripture makes clear is THE ONLY WAY TO REDEMPTION.      Catholic church doctrine claims mary to be "co -redeemer with Christ which totally violates scripture, along with literally hundreds of other "catholic church doctrines"  that are in direct opposition to scripture.   The catholic church pope usurps the place of Christ and is not of God.   In the new testament church of Jesus Christ there are no separation of clergy /laity, ALL ARE EQUAL BEFORE GOD AND scripture tells us "the head of man is Christ"  We do not need any man over us according to the doctrine of the Kingdom of God.    Every man stands before God on his own.  (IF he is truly a scripture and Holy Spirit led Christian);
