Best Spring Scents at Bath and Body Works For 2012
Spring Scents Are Here!
If you are like me, you are eager to see spring finally get here. The winter scents at Bath and Body Works are awesome, but it is time for cold weather to go away. Once warm weather arrives, so do the spring scents at Bath and Body Works. Of course, some of these scents are hiding in Bath and Body Works all year, but they are just not that popular until the weather warms up. The floral and fruit scents become quite popular in spring and summer. Also, Bath and Body Works likes to introduce at least a few new spring scents each year.
This year, Bath and Body Works is introducing a number of new spring scents like Pink Chiffon, Mango Mai Tai, Paradise Coconut, and much, much more. One new candle scent is just simply called Spring. Well, that just about says it all, doesn't it? With so many new fragrances, it is tough to decide which are the best. I would like to discuss some of my new favorite Bath and Body Works scents for this spring.
Pink Chiffon
Currently, Pink Chiffon is the Signature Collection scent being promoted the most at Bath and Body Works. The display table full of Pink Chiffon shower gels, lotions, and body sprays is positioned at the front of the store. If you visit the website, Pink Chiffon is also shown on the front page of the site (as of February 2012). So what is all the Pink Chiffon excitement about?
Pink Chiffon is a combination of three scents: vanilla orchid, red pear, and whipped chiffon musk. To be honest, I don't even know what whipped chiffon musk means, but for some reason, I actually believe I can smell it. The Pink Chiffon is a nice scent, but to be honest, it is really not my favorite scent Bath and Body Works is promoted right now. I would rank it at about a 6 on a scale of 1 to 10.
If you are interested in a sweeter scent or a stronger scent, this is probably not for you either. However, if you want something not too strong with a slight flower scent, this could be a new favorite for you. You can smell just touch of pear in the Pink Chiffon scent, but not much.
Paris Amour
Paris Amour is another Signature Collection scent Bath and Body Works is promoting at the store, as well as the website. I have to say I like Paris Amour so much more than Pink Chiffon, so it deserves its spotlight at the front of the store, too. I am not sure how your local store is set-up, but the Bath and Body Works I visit regularly had the Paris Amour table located on the right side of the store for the President's Day sale and the Pink Chiffon table to the left. Make sure the visit both tables to determine your favorite. I recommend the Paris Amour side!
Paris Amour is also a light scent, but it is quite pleasant. It features a combination of French tulips, apple blossoms, and pink champagne. For some reason, it reminds me of the old Bath and Body Work's fragrance, Brown Sugar and Fig. However, the Paris Amour seems a little sweeter. Also, I noticed the lotion for the Paris Amour smells even better than the shower gel, in my opinion. After I've worn it for a while, it smells sweeter and cotton candy like, but that might just be my body chemistry with the scent. I would rank the shower gel at a 7 and the lotion at an 8.
Carried Away
One of the newer scents at Bath and Body Works I would like to recommend is Carried Away. Yes, you should get carried away with Carried Away! Sorry, that was cheesy.
Carried Away is a really fresh, clean scent. The fragrance is a combination of raspberries, white jasmine, and whipped vanilla. Out of all the three scents I've discussed so far, this one is my favorite. It is actually quite a pleasant surprise. The shower gel is simply a baby blue color and the decorations on the bottle are not that exciting. Don't let the packaging fool you! This is actually a nice, clean scent. When it comes to a shower gel, isn't that what you really want? I asked a few of my friends to smell Paris Amour, Pink Chiffon, and Carried Away, and Carried Away was the winner every time. I would rate this one at a 9 on a scale from 1 to 10.
Country Chic
Country Chic was introduced last spring at Bath and Body Works, but it is still available and deserves to be discussed. Perhaps it is not being promoted like the other scents, but it is still a good one.
Country Chic features wildflowers, lemon, and a "spring woods" scent. Even though this fragrance sounds like it would mostly smell like flowers, it has more of a citrus scent to it because of the lemon. It is another scent that I would consider very fresh. If you are interested in citrus scents, this might be the best fragrance to try. Country Chic can be a little strong, but is still a good scent. I would give it a 5 out of 10.
Other Signature Collection Scents
If you are still not impressed with the earlier mentioned Bath and Body Works fragrances, you might want to consider a number of other scents that are now available. Currently, there is a nice tropical collection that features Bali Mango, Aruba Coconut, and Rio Rumberry. If you enjoy tropical scents, this is definitely the collection for you. For me, I did not care for the Rio Rumberry and I don't like anything coconut scented, so that ruled out Aruba Coconut. The Bali Mango is nice enough, but it can't compete with Bath and Body Work's older scent, Mango Mandarin.
Another scent I would like to discuss is Be Enchanted. Be Enchanted has actually been out for a few months and would be considered a winter scent. However, it is so wonderful that it will never go out of style with me. It is still being promoted in the front of the store, so if Bath and Body Works is going to make it available all year, I am going to promote it now, too.
Bath and Body Works describes Be Enchanted as "iced pomegranate and sugared petals inspired by all that glitters." OK, so that is a little weird and certainly sounds like a winter fragrance, but it is really nice. It is a light, slightly fruity, sweet scent. If you do not want to wear something overpowering, this is the best Signature Collection fragrance for you. I would give this scent a rating of 8 on a 1 - 10 scale.
Let's Talk About Candles
Last but never least, Bath and Body Works has a number of candles available with a spring theme. Slatkin and Company provides all the candles for Bath and Body Works. I must admit, even though I am a big Yankee Candle fan, these candles pretty much the same quality as Yankee Candle and often feature better scents. Right now, Bath and Body Works seems to be a going in two directions with the candles available at their store.
One theme is a tropical theme with scents like: Jungle Kiss, Sea Spray, White Palm, Coconut Leaves, Tropical Spice, Pink Sangria, Paradise Daiquiri, Mango Beachwood, Seaside Escape, Peach Bellini, Caribbean Escape, Pineapple Punch, Tiki Beach, Coconut Water, Bahama Fizz, Sunrise Lagoon, Aloha Vanilla, and Island Colada. I suppose this group of candles is really all about getting you ready for summer.
If you are more interesting in enjoying the spring first and buying some floral scents, you would want to go with the other Bath and Body Works candle theme. The spring floral candle collection features fragrances like: Lilac Blossom, First Bloom, Spring, Flower Shop, Pink Tulip, Green Grass, Eucalyptus Mint, and Drenched Apple Flower. I recommend buying the Spring scent if you drop by Bath and Body Works anytime soon looking for candles. The scent features a combination of tulips, apple blossoms, yellow daisies, and daffodils all in one candle!
