Why are some wrist watches so expensive? What is the reason behind the price?
Not all wristwatches are expensive. The Dollar Store (in the U.S.) carries a watch with an LCD dial and rubber wrist strap for only, you guessed it, one dollar. And it will work for about one year. Then you need to replace the battery. The price of more expensive watches depends on several factors: the name of the maker (Cascio or Rolex), the watch movement inside the case (factory-produced or handmade), the case itself (base metal or sterling or gold), the presence of diamonds or sapphires or cubic zirconia (looks like diamonds) on the outside of the case, and the strap itself - plastic, rubber, fabric, leather, etc. The most expensive watch is the world will set you back just $2,500,000.00.
