Using homemade toothpaste is preferred if you have rather sensitive teeth, or really bad breath.

Include baking soda and round off the brushing by gargling with an oxygenating mouthwash.

So it doesn't cause tooth sensitivity?  I've heard different things.

Simple answer! It's much, much cheaper.

The environmentalist answer: You use less packaging because you get a lot more mileage out of the ingredients you buy. You use fewer and less harmful chemicals.

Pros: It is SO cheap! It is swallow-able - which is a plus since my toddler isn't so great at spitting yet. It is effective.

Cons: It tastes completely disgusting (though my toddler loves it). I miss having a squeezy tube. Is that photo yours? My toothpaste comes out pretty stiff, so it never looks that pretty on the toothbrush by the time I get it on there!

My toothpaste freezes in the winter- I have to scrape up a bit with the edge of my toothbrush. On warm days, it melts and is much easier to use!

Thanks!  No, not my photo.  Ours comes out more on the drippy/melted end.  Trying to find the best recipe still!

I have never used it but I was wondering if there is any way you could tell me what I would need to make my own and how do you store it? Thank you so much in advance!!!
