   In basketball, traveling is a violation of the rules that occurs when a player holding the ball moves one or both of his feet illegally. Most commonly, a player travels by illegally moving his pivot foot or taking too many steps without dribbling the ball.
   
   But I suspect that is not what you meant...tee hee :-)

   I would define it numerous ways as traveling through life's journey or one other unusual definition would be with the qualifiers --out-of-body travel whereby the spirit, as John Muir puts it, travels under glaciers to see what's what while the body rests.

   I would describe travelling as any journey that is not regularly taken. For instance "travelling" to work is called commuting, "travelling" to parents or other family is called visiting and "travelling" to the store is called shopping. So you could travel on an adventure, a holiday or on business but I would not term it travelling if it is a route that you take regularly. Travelling should conjure up thoughts of adventure, unknowns, wonder, suspense, uncertainties and eventually a feeling of satisfaction at the completion of what was before a personally unknown journey.

   Travelling is going to places you have never been before and the places you want to see. Travelling is going to a date with nature.

   Travelling relates to the word moving or on the move. Everyone's definition of travelling is different depending on the context in which it's used.  As in - I absolutely hate travelling to work every day, it SUCK! - or - we're off travelling around the world WIPEE! -
   
   To me though, travelling defines soaking up new places and experiences, enjoying life as much as possible and opening up the mind to a new way of thinking.
   
   Give me a laptop, an internet connection a glorious income on-line and my wife and I would be travelling all the time - living LIFE

   Traveling is moving about, seeing different places. Basically, it's something we do every day when commuting. However, we can also travel far away to other places. So it depends on what definition you want.

   We travel from one destination to the next every time we go somewhere.  Right?  All kidding aside, for me, traveling is, at minimum, going to a different town and staying for at least one night.  Also, as said below, we also travel on a journey through life..   : )

    For me, traveling is going somewhere out of my familiar surroundings.  I could travel just a couple of miles away from my home, but if it's somewhere new, it's traveling for me.

    Traveling is the ability to go outside of where you live and to entertain diversity beyond what you are accustomed to.
