Above all else, my cat is really sweet.  Her name is Angel, and she really does live up to that name.  She tried really hard to be good and is generally in good spirits.

My pitbull is a crackhead for tug-of-war. If we take him to the dog park and he sees someone playing tug or playing anything he will steal there toy and freak out till the owner plays tug with him. I mean it is to the point where if a kid had a rope I better get in there before I end up with a disaster. He is also a bed hog among other things.

I have a pet hamster named Mimi.  I would mostly describe her as jittery.  She is my third hamster, but definitely the most nervous.  The sweet thing about her is she is not a biter.  Mimi is so timid, she will pretty much just hide rather than try to challenge me.  She is such a sweet little gal.

Oddly, even though she is so nervous, she is not scared of the vacuum.  If I put her in the hamster ball and then try to vacuum, she charges at the vacuum.  I believe she thinks it is a fun game I am playing with her.

My favorite girl, GoGo, an Australian Shepherd is the sweetest dog in the morning! Every morning after the alarm goes off she peers over the edge of the bed seeking approval to get in. I'll pat the bed and she will jump in and snuggle with me and I'll pet on her for a while before we finally get up. I get my robe and she jumps of the bed and does this jump spin thing in excitement. Then we go outside for a bit while my coffee brews. This is every single morning! I don't know what I would do if my morning started differently.

My American Bulldog, Maggie, is pretty protective of me.  When someone gives me a hug, she is "at attention", ready if she feels I am being harmed.
My cat, Snickers, is pretty lazy, and only cuddly if she feels like it (which is not often).
My Rottweiler, Ruggar, is totally energetic-he loves to run.  He is also very sweet and very fond of me:)smile

Bourbon, my black chocolate point burmese tom cattin.. (not quite acts like a cat but more like a kitten lol)

bully and a scardy cat.. freaks out at earthquakes, petrified of the dark, i have to leave a light on where his feed and dirttray are at night.. wont stay in a room if i walk to another, thinks he's top cat by peering at strays through the glass doors an when i open it slightly for him to say hi to them, he reaches out with his paw.. and if he doens't like that particular cat, threatens me with the most evil eyes and a ready set of teeth an paws ( i felt these twice already, i stand ready with a tea towel, he likes water so that doesn't work lol)
but then when he likes a visiting cat.. he keeps calling it back and expects me to give it HIS food.. which he hardly ever eats unless i put his plate at my feet.. but if i move, he stops eating.. could say i have a cat with issues! doesn't even sit on ya knee.. but he will climb onto the exercise equipment for you to attempt to catch him if he pretends to fall.. he is sooo entertaining an sooo cute, but oh so much hard work...  perhaps neutering will help (typing that really quiet so he can't understand what i wrote... )

My cat Amber is totally crazy but a sweetie at heart.  She climbed the kitchen wall to catch flies, she chases your ankles if you move in front of her. But her antics always make you laugh because she just does these things when you least expect it.

I have several animals and almost all of them are rescues.

I can answer this multiple ways:
    - Their true personality didn't come out until we earned their trust and they started to feel at home. Thus my recommendation to people to not judge their new pet until they truly know it.
    - While their personality is as different as those of humans around us, their greatest character trades are respect, honesty, faithfulness, acceptance of diversity and love given unconditionally; things only few humans know how to truly offer!
    - They often try to be what we want them to be, just to please us, the imperfect humans. It is interesting that they love us as we are; and try to be what will make us happy!
