Do you think that people really look in some way like their dogs?

I have seen these pictures where the person with the leash, has some resemblances to his/her pet.

I have heard this many times, I think there could be some truth to it. I have included a picture so readers can be the judge in my case at least.

lol - I don't think you look like your Golden Retriever. I have one too, and I don't think I look like her...but then, we are a bit mismatched! lol I have had a variety of dogs, mostly German Shepherds, but also some small dogs.

I know people and their dogs that have similar personalities and dispositions. Like both are joyful and bouncy or quiet and seem pensive. It is funny. I wonder if they take on each others dispositions or if they were similar to begin with and that was why the person picked a certain pet? It is going to sound awful, but I only know one person who actually looks like her dog. They have the same face and body type. I won't say what type of dog smile

Interesting question. I find some of the look alike contests a lot of fun! At a seminar I was at this past weekend I found it interesting that there were several participants who wore clothing that matched their dogs! One even had a blue shirt on and her dog had a blue tail - she said it was not intentional, but the blue had been added by her groomer weeks earlier and she just happened to wear a blue shirt.

On a more serious note, however, I do think there is somewhat of a tendency in that certain personality types are attracted to certain breeds and perhaps some people are even attracted to dogs they find attractive because they like the look in themselves...to my knowledge no one has ever studied this before.

YW! When I take my dog for pet therapy I try to color coordinate our dress - what I wear with the color of the scarf I select for her that day, but I don't think we look alike. You can see photos of my dogs on my hub about service vs. therapy dogs.

In my case, I hope so. I have two very sleek & fit Rhodesian Ridgebacks.  They are going grey around their muzzles, but other than that they are beautiful.

I have to admit there have been times when I have done a double take when looking from dog's to owner's face.
