How to raise awareness and members for a new saddle club.

Any ideas on ways to make the club more interesting and bringing in non-horse members.  Our club would to put together a day together to attract people, members and non-members to make our club a success.  A hub on this would be great!!!  TY Tammy

Craigslist is a good bet to increase local awareness, or run an add in the local yellowpage.com website.  Other promotional ideas are raffle tickets, posters, and rummage sales run by the club.

To promote your club you could put an event together maybe include a local horse shelter/rescue and get it publicized through radio and other media for free since the rescue is non profit. Advertising on Craigslist is free too and flyers at local stables might also help.

Word of mouth in the horse world is amazing:o) Also, hand out fliers at a local horse show, write a press release for the local newspaper of the club's events, awards won by members, etc. Most newspapers welcome free copy. Also post meetings on calendar of events again in the paper and/or online sites like the chamber of commerce or other local organizations and bulentin boards

A horse expo or festival of horses is an event that can interest all people in the community with a parade of breeds, riding demos like dressage, reining, or jumping. A costume contest, educational displays, etc.
