    my dog has been bitten by a snake. it was over 2mtrs long and black on top with a yellow/pale...

    underside. do red bellied black snakes sometimes not have the red pigmentation because it did look like one.

    Since you asked this question 12 hours ago, if you dog is OK the snake is not venomous.

    Identification will depend on where you live as there are a few species which match the description which are specific to different continents.

    What country, also were you on the beach or inland?

    Accdg to your description if it wasn't a red bellied snake...then most likely it's another one. You'd better be sure about it first.
