Not anymore, since I no longer live on a farm, but we raised pigs all through my childhood and I plan to raise them again as soon as we get an acreage. I have a hub written about building a pig pen, and plan to write quite a few more about keeping pigs in the future.
No, we do not raise pigs for food, if we do get pigs, they will be raised as pets.
Pigs are so intelligent that there is a law that forbids the killing of one pig in front of the other.
Pigs are not dirty either. Pigs have skin that is very much like humans. They do not have fur that protects from the sun, so they will often roll in mud to prevent sunburn, and they also find the wallows cooling on a warm day.
