How do you stop stray cats from coming onto your porch at night leaving their fur and smell.
I tried to clean up smell of cats on my porch with bleach and cayenne pepper, the only thing I accomplished was ruining the carpet on my porch as the cats come back at night and leave cat fur all over the porch. Need other resolution.
Cats hate citrus, coffee, and cayenne pepper smells. In the past it's worked for me.
Make sure that there isn't any food or anything that they would want to try to get at. Also, if you yourself have a cat living there, if you spread its feces around, that will probably tell other cats not to come by...
Or sprinkle some hotsauce on something.
What worked for me was putting a bunch of pine tree cones all over the place. Anything sharp. But I already drenched the little plot of earth with bleach and other things before that.....

I hate those feral cats stinking up my front yard! - And yeah it's not legal to kill them with poison - go figure! Besides the feces is BAD for the fetus!
Try calling the SPCA shelter they will take them in and put them all to sleep.Strays are only stray because their previous owners had abandoned them therefore the cats no longer trust the human being and I can see why.Maybe this is your last chance to show these poor starving animals and the reason why they stopped at your door step(?)If there is one human being left on earth that cares, you maybe the no.one winner.I found several homeless cats and kittens;I chose to take them in and feed them(when I had very little myself) then have SPCA help with expenses to have them all fixed then find loving homes,it was so easy and very rewarding.Only to look into the sweet innocent eyes of these poor hungry babies. They do every thing a human does except work and if they could work in order to survive they would, but they were never given that option, therefore in the governments eyes they are non-productive as well as considered useless, how sad is that? They were never given the choices we were. And here they are sent on a daily basis to a gas chamber to be put to sleep, and why? No one knows.
You might try spraying half vinegar and half water on the porch. It won't hurt the cats and it may just keep the cats away. Have you asked you vet?
