How many different pets do you have at home?

We are almost a hobby farm.  If we had land and fencing and extra money, there is no telling how many animals my husband and I would adopt.  Today we have one lizard, eight dogs, one cat and one bird.  We used to have two squirrels and almost seven cats and at one place in time, 11 dogs!  How many different kind of animals do you have?

We are down to two dogs, two cats, and a hermit crab. We would have many more if we had the time and land.

Just 3 large troublesome dogs that I love dearly. Years ago we had tons of animals but our climate is severe so taking care of them at our age (60's) is a hassle in winter so we stick to our canine babies.

Out of our eight dogs, one is dachshunds and two dachshunds mix and one chihuahua...others are border collie and pitt bull mixes.

Cats and dogs, squirrels and deer, rabbits, a few field mice, lots of birds....!!  Well, actually, in California, I have cats...in SE Kansas, we have cats and dogs...and in both places...so many beautiful wild creatures...swallows who return to their nests each year, deer who munch on the greenery, rabbits galore...and more....beautiful animal kingdom on many levels.

I like how you include the free creatures as pets!

We have three cats, a Chinese Crested, a guinea pig, and three African Dwarf frogs. I would definitely have more if I could!

Do chickens count? Besides my dog and lizard I have four little ladies producing eggs for me, but are they pets or farm animal/protein factories?

Right now, we have a male and a female stag beetle. They are common where we live, they're like beetles with horns.

I have a rabbit and a cat, but my daughter would have a whole menagerie if she could.

Currently one dog and one spiney, soft-shelled turtle. I got the turtle when I was a kid on a whim. It was the size of a quarter and now it is around 9 inches in diameter and apparently they live a really long time. It is pretty neat, but turtles are messy!

We used to have two turtles, but we set them free when we left Missouri and moved to Kentucky.

I have one parakeet, a saltwater tank with many fish and marine life in it, and a boxer dog named Buster.

I've had many pets throughout my life...several dogs, cats, hamsters, bearded dragons, and birds. My most beloved pets were my dogs. They all felt like members of my family and when one dies it is like losing a member of our family.

The Boxer I have now I adopted from PAWS. He is a great pet and I saved him from being put down. He was a couple of days away they told me. It would have been such a loss to put down such a smart, friendly. loving, special dog like Buster!
