We had a St.Bernard named Hagrid but he's passed. Now we have cats named Zeus and Smudge, and Shizzy our new puppy.
My cat's name is Smudge because his nose is part white and part black and it looks like a smudge of dirt.
Our little black pug is named Pickles because that is what my kids liked, but I would have loved if we could have called him Augustus (Gus) or Versache!
I have two fancy rats - one is named Patches because I was originally going to adopt a hamster with difficult cheek pouches (his food what get stuck in them) but ended up getting a rat. The other girl is Gadget, named after the mouse from Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers.
The cats are Butterball (Butters because of his size and fluffiness) and Alexander (Alex who loves to conquer). The turtle is Ralf.
