    Hi Peggy,
I loved learning about Gladys Porter Zoo. It's true if it weren't for the zoos, many animals in the world would have been extinct. This is certainly another place in Texas that I would like to visit when I get the chance to go there. Thank you for the wonderful share.

Great article Peggy, about the Gladys Porter Zoo. I liked reading the details, and the pictures of animals are outstanding. Good to know that the animals are provided the natural habitat, and all their requirements are sincerely taken care of.
Your quote about the Zoo’s is so true. Thank you for sharing this wonderful article.

This sounds like a very interesting place to visit. I'll put it on my bucket list. I'm glad to hear that the staff do more than just display animals. Breeding, rehabilitation, and research is a great combination. As long as the animals have a reasonably good habitat, which they seem to have at the Gladys Porter Zoo, zoos can be very useful. Thanks for creating the article, Peggy, and thanks for sharing it, Rosina.

Thank you Rosina for sharing the information about this fabulous zoo in southern Texas.  It is so beautifully landscaped and I like their focus on rehabbing animals and releasing them back into the wild if possible, and the preservation of species.

Hi Linda,  You certainly have a fantastic zoo in your area.  Over the years, zoos have taken on more responsibility for species survival, research, and more.  Gladys Porter took this aspect seriously.

Looks like a wonderful place.  Great to see that they rehabilitate and try to release when possible.  Would love to visit if we are ever in the area.  Wonderful article, Peggy.
