just to let y'all know. thanks so much for all your kind words and support, and it looks like Ralph is getting better. He is walking and eating soft foods and drinking and hasnt been sick since 1 am now. Thanks again everybody.
I wish I could contribute to your vet bill but I have to get my old truck fixed! glad to hear Ralphy is better but hope you get to take him to a vet - or it could be he just bit his tongue. man, I'm glad I don't have any pets, even tho I look longingly at the pet ads every day in the paper!
*hugs* and warm thoughts and prayers for the continue healing of sweet Ralph
Oh justine that's wonderful news! I don't know why I'm smiling as if he was my own dog...but I somehow sensed your pain and I'm sooo happy he's better! The kids must be over the moon....
Aww! Sweet! Glad to hear it, all that love and good vibes seems to have helped then
Sorry to hear about your dog being sick, but I am glad to hear that things are looking better.
Glad to hear it. I'm sorry I came late into this one. Haven't known a dog named Ralph for many years. I like it. Wishing all the best for you both.
i like animals, especially dogs and cats. i hope that animals will be our friends forever.
It's so good news, Justine! I'm sure your love and caring helped him a lot. Thank you for letting us know.
Well, hes sleeping alot and still real weak, but so far I no see signs of jaundice and he is still keeping food down. Poor little guy, what an ordeal! Thanks everyone for caring and all your nice thoughts. x
I didn't know about Ralph, I'm happy he is on the road to recovery. Stay strong and good luck....
thanks. I don't know exaclty what happend, but I htnkhe had a heat stroke due to working himself up about a thunder storm.... the only other thing we can think of is maybe he had a reaction to the flea medicine residue that was still on his bed. He hadnt used that bed sicne the last time he got flea medication, and he had acted oddly the last time he had it and we had decided then to not use that brand anymore but I forgot about the bed...
I really didnt think he would live when it first happend, but so far hes gettign better.
i didn't know about it either. i wish i would have stayed up last night. i always feel for pet owners, being one myself. i'm glad he's getting better. not to self promote but i have a hub posted about how my cat had a bad reaction to a flea treatment. it was not as severe as what your dog went through but it may help you. i'm glad your dog is getting better, hang in there. we are all here for you.
Last update, I hope. so far it looks as though a complete recovery. He is running and barking and eating normally. I just cant believe it!!!
this had nothing to do with being in a parked car, but guys. After this thing, I would like to tell you all, please please be very careful with your pets in the heat. NEVER leave them in a car in hot weather, I know I wont.
and one last huge hubhug and thank you for everyone who was there for me thru this.

I wasn't sure where to make this post. I thought maybe I should just pop it under the food thread but it seemed cowardly. I considered posting it under the health section, but that felt like admitting defeat. I thought...
