She is a rat terrier. I rescued her 4 years ago. Does rescue mean that I saved her? LOL. She is my best friend, my only friend. You can trust your dog, people you cant. I love my dog very much, she is my buddy. She loves rabbits and all small creatures. Love as in, EAT THEM, CHASE THEM!!! LOL. The part I dont like about owning her, is I have to walk her. We had to move to a apartment,so now we walk 4 to 5 times each day. Warm weather, cold, rainy, it doesnt matter. We walk in the winds, in the icy rain. I wonder if she misses her backyard we once had. She loves the walks, I dread them in the cold windy days. Oh well thats part of loving my Princess. She misses daddy too. When she smelled his shirt that I kept, she went into her crazy happy mode. Tail wagging so fast her body wiggled. I laughed as tears ran down my face, a little happiness in the middle of heart breaking grief. I told her daddy is dead now,so its just her and me. Then I held her and cryed for what was, and what is.
I just felt the need to hug my Daughter and the Jack Russell.
My 8 month old kitten, Scout was killed last week.
Rusty, my 3 year old Lab X has spent every day and night since looking for her. By day he sniffs out all of Scout's favourite spots in the garden, whining soulfully when he does not find her in any of them.
At night, he curls up as close as he can get to the side of her favourite armchair, sniffing it in the hope that she is hiding underneath, waiting to swat at his nose with a quick, black paw.
Last night I noticed Rusty sitting in front of the buffet, looking up at the large, framed photograph of Scout that now sits there. The expression in his eyes had me going for the tissues.
Hopefully he will soon be able to move on, without forgetting his little sister.
I wish the same for both yourself and your Princess.
