Seems only fair that i started a post about boy names that i should follow with favourite girl names
I like Kaya, Kayleigh, or Keya which means monsoon flower
Katy-Bob-Walton is not so great
Yet 15 new babies in BumbleTown were called that after the latest episodes of The Waltons screened here last November!
Yes... but don't tell them... or there'll be hundreds of PDHs galloping across our hearts
You already do that well enough on your own
How about Roberta? or my friends name is Perla - means pearls in Filipino
How wonderful to love your own name! I wish I did!
I have always had a thing for the name Siobhan (pronounced Shivawn) but would not name a child that because it would trip people up too much. I can just picture substitute teachers getting tongue twisted... not worth it.
Had my son been a girl he would have been Natalie Catherine
The Catherine for my dear Aunt Catherine.
But You Should Be Very Happy with your Name
Mighty - Wow.. that's pretty powerful!
Siobhan is a true Celtic name which really is worth tripping over Mighty!
@ Maita... Mr. Diver is Fine
...i knew it....i just had to look tho!....i'm glad you are happy CM!
will be next week when she gets back You seem pretty happy these days - how is your move going ?
...oh good....aren't i always?...was thinking of writing hub on moving actually...just gotta find the right moment for it so the words flow...it's comin'.....
Sukie can be Lily as well, they have the same meaning
What is the meaning connection between them ?
I got it from the bible old testament and research says it was either the name of an Ethiopian Princess or means Princess - I hadn't heard that it also means Lily.
in Hebrew it also means Susan
pure, beauty - princess and innocence the lily flower
...of course it does....i love the way you are in love CM!....it's really nice....
Shame it won't last so long huh ? According to my long gone ex I have one foot in the grave already
I hope you won't have to resort to the use of cheap green stuff for your long gone ex.
When my daughter was born, we named her Leia, pronounced like Leah.
I thought I had come up with an original spelling...wrong! I didn't realize that one of the main characters in Star Wars was called Princess Leia, only it was pronounced like Lay-uh. This was back in '83, when Star Wars was very popular, but I hadn't seen it, lol...
Ever since then, my daughter has constantly had to correct people who pronounce her name wrong, or ask her if she was named after the Star Wars character...
I think she likes her name anyway, though...and I know I still love it...
Sometimes when you transplant yourself into a different soil, your name might not sound so great. My oldest son hates his Russian name and tells people that his name is John, because his name does not sound nice in English. Name Sukie sounds almost like a swear word in Russian, same as Shailo. I like simple, easy names like Alice or Bekky (Becky? I am not sure) that do not require a lot of effort to pronounce or do not sound funny. At least my youngest son got the name that is easily transplanted - Arthur.
My daughter is Hanna but we had a long list of names we liked including Sabine, Chloe, Etoile... Her middle names are Marie and Elise...

by Zsuzsy Bee 12 years ago
I find it quite intriguing and often wonder how a user name is chosen...some of the names are quite easy to guess others I bet have most likely funny little anecdotes to go with the choice...My user name is really very ordinary Zsuzsy being a Hungarian form of Suzanne and the Bee well, my teenage...
