Have you even made your own soap? If so, how did it turn out?
I have never used the cold process method for soapmaking, but I do make my own soap using the melt and pour method which is really easy and no curing time is required. You simply melt the soap, use colouring and fragrances, pour into a mould and allow it to set for an hour or so and then it can be used straight away. I wrote a hub on it. I love giving them as gifts to friends and family.
We make cold process soap at my house. It took a few tries to get the hang of it and find a good recipe that had the right balance of moisturizing, lather, etc. Now it's an annual thing and we don't buy commercial soap anymore.
