What's a good camera for night/evening shots of city lights from far away, panorama shots?
I want to photograph the insides of the Hollywood Hills (eerily beautiful around dusk in the summer), San Fernando and Los Angeles, but I need a camera capable of night shots, low light, capable of picking up city/house lights at a distance (infinite focus prefered) without being blurry or dark. I want to do these places justice.
First thing is that you need a tripod no matter what camera you use. You will get better results with a DSLR that allows you to use manual settings. You can choose to look for a camera with a higher ISO - but this will just produce grainy images.
My recommendation: DSLR (almost all of them are capable of long exposures), tripod and light meter with a lot of patience.
Keep in mind any wind movements in tree limbs or greenery will appear blurry in a long exposure shot.
