    Hold me,
Like you held on to life.
When all fears came alive, and entombed me.
    Love me,
    Like you love the sun.
Scorching the blood in my unshielded heart.
    Leave me,
    Like you left yourself.
Empty and alone to face the world.

Huuuuuummmm!!!  Poetry!!!!! Expressions and a language/ Voice of the superiors and the Inferiors; the represented and the non presented ones the fortunate ones and the unfortunate ones.....
You have air a voice of  so many broken hearts that dont have a means of expressing that inner heart hurting feelings or Joy ......

I wish I had enough time I would discuss more.....

        But good Art...

I love your poem. I thought I'd share a couple of mine, too. I will warn you, though; I'm not rhyming's number one fan. It's nice and all, but it can get way too corny for my taste, so I prefer freeverse.

    everything hurts.
    my stomach
    my eyes
    my heart.
    everything hurts.
    the dark
    the silence
    the loneliness.
    everything hurts.
    faking happy
    false smiles
    frozen tears.
    everything hurts.
    I'm unwanted
    everything hurts.
    everything hurts,
and I've run out of Tylenol.

    To Whom it May Concern

I tried so hard to explain,
    But you just wouldn't listen.
    This happens every time
    You get paranoid.
    You push everyone away,
    Hide every ounce of humanity
    Left in you.
    You cower in your corner,
    Expecting the blows
    Of hate and wrath.
    But they don't come.
    No, of course not.
    "Why?" you ask.
Because it was all in your head.
The phrase "I told you so,"
    Comes to mind.
    I'd never say that.
    No, I'd never say that
    Out loud.
    I'm irrational enough
    To still love you.
Even though you removed every bit
    Of me,
    I still love you.
    You had the nerve
    To believe I'd hurt you
    Intentionally, but
    I still love you.
    You were so overcome
    With your "self-preservation"
    To listen to me
When I told you the truth.
    And yet...
    I still love you.

    I'm either masochistic or retarded.

    What do you think? :-D

An example of a free style poem I wrote:

    What makes us so different

    Yet draws us so near?

    Like gravity, the moon

    Pulls on the Earth and

    Earth's gravity pulls back.

The force is subtle and unseen,

    Yet strong enough to keep

Each in its place both separate

    Yet dependent on the other.

    What makes us so different

    Yet drives us together?

Like the winds of the storm

    Swirling in circles powered

    By differences of pressure.

    Invisible and unfelt,

    Fueled by the sea.

It drives the water in waves

    Smashing against the shore.

    What makes us so different

    Yet compels us to touch?

    Like thunder clouds filled

    With negative charge.

    The land is positive, sure.

It holds us captive while clouds

    Hover above drifting on wind.

Each separate, but anxious to touch.

Then the lightning leaps the distance,

Sharp, and hard it fingers the land.

    What makes us so different

    Yet we are the same?

    Man with his muscular body,

    Designed to hide his insecurity.

    Confidently moving towards his mate.

    Woman with soft curves that

    Belies her strength, her power.

    Signals her acceptance.

    Her control complete,

    As bodies collide,

    And generate heat.

    And one that rhymes:

    Meet Me By The Sea

Busy streets, and the ferry horn.

A table for two, a chance reborn.

Warm summer night, a harbor view.

I'll order some drinks while I wait for you.

Clouds may threaten, but here we are safe.

Live music plays, as we enjoy our escape.

Singing along to songs that we know.

Toasting to love that is sure to grow.

Clams on the half shell, an amorous treat.

One more thing would make this complete.

Whisper in my ear what I want you to say.

Take you back home where I'll have my way.

Tonight I'll wait here in my favorite place.

I'll listen to music, recall our embrace.

I'll order two drinks, and something to eat.

Look at the sea and, hope again that we meet!

Blues: You're welcome. I like your writing. But politically we are opposites. However don't matter to me. Actually prefer it that way.

    Slip sliding down hills
    popping colored pills
    to stop the sneeze
    to help me breathe.

    My mind is clear
    but still I fear
    intentions of my preventions

    Everyone else is holding hands
    buying unneeded name brands
    donating cash to clever ads
    reading mags to follow fads

    Still I stand, alone
    on a rapidly fading stone.

    Inner self reflections
what does it reveal us to be
are we free or captured inside ourselves
seeking, reaching for better understanding of ourselves
are we closed off in fear of rejection
    in need of acceptance
    who are we
want do we reveal ourselves to be
look at the reflection in the mirror
    what do you see
    is it your inner soul
or is it hidden from view
    is the reflection true

These lights, these stars so far away,

All I know is we call it the Milky Way.

    Everything around is so strange,

    The human is certainly deranged.

    Success is peace of mind,

I try so hard to unwind.

We care constantly fighting like cats and dogs,

Reality is covered by some strange fog.

How long is this supposed to go on?

Before I go back to where I came from.

In this world we are all referring,

To sparks of happiness and flames of suffering.

The wise are so totally detached,

Pain is for those who are attached.
