I have a new website and want suggestions getting it to look right in Explorer 6.
It's OK in Firefox and later versions of Explorer, but I can't get the top menu to look right in Explorer 6.
Does anyone have ny ideas how to fix this?
Often the problem with browsers like that is if it works fine in later ones don't worry about it. Explorer 6 is so old its dying out to updates. I know a lot of people still use 6 and some even before that but the amount of serious traffic today use 7 or later. Some problems are unfix-able, that's why flash sites have a HTML only site you can go to if your on dial-up or an old browser and cant run it.
You can use http://validator.w3.org to validate your page. It will give you the lines and columns where there is a problem. Once you fixed all the problems, you will have a very clean code and your web page should display consistently accros all platforms.
I had the same problem with my website, browsing on the internet I found the following code:
Your page has the following code:
You want to have "transitional" rather than "strict."
Here is the source where I found the code that helpd me, it has lots of good information:

I got an email from the editors saying:"We have reviewed your article, This is How I Trade Stock Options (Follow My Actual Trades), and, unfortunately, the article does not meet our quality bar"The editors don't tell me why it now failed to meet standards when it has been in a niche site...

Whitney I noticed reported the same problem about 3 months ago. I haven't checked in a while, but last time I looked internet explorer was still the dominant OS. I know it didn't used to do this. Is the awkward-looking non-text wrapping page what IE users will see? If so that is really limiting our...

Since another thread encouraged us to switch over to the new profile layout, I have checked some of the profiles of Hubbers who have switched. There are two technical problems that I see. It is possible that they are related to my browser (IE 8.0), but I'm not currently in a position to...
