The only way I see the ways to boost sales through social media marketing optimization is to continuously promote good will, quality content based on your target market's needs, provide benefits and solutions.
Search for the keywords for your target market and place negative keywords that could indicate an unfilled need, or dissatisfied outcome relating to the product or service.
This is done by searching forums, social media sites, yahoo questions, running surveys, etc. Ask and research, then respond with a solution. Always post responses with converting keywords in hypertext links to your site where you provide the solution that will hopefully result in them buying what you are offering.
Once you have provided something fulfilling the need, kindly ask them for testimonials as to how you solved their problem, provided a solution, supplied a benefit or rescued them in some way over your competitor.
If you can solve problems in any way, you win favor and patronage. Keyword Optimize everything, if you can ping your responses to your viewership, showing you as a problem solver and asking if there is anything more you can do to help patrons, your hard work and genuine approach

The best way to boost sales is to build relationships and get loyal followers who are interested in what you business has to offer, giving away discounts, having contests and creating a email list is a start to increasing profits through social media optimization.
You might want to look into into strategy building on social media, then optimizing it. Online rep. management is equally important for optimizing social media.
